### [CVE-2021-4402](https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2021-4402) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Product&message=Multiple%20Roles&color=blue) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Version&message=*%20&color=brightgreen) ![](https://img.shields.io/static/v1?label=Vulnerability&message=CWE-352%20Cross-Site%20Request%20Forgery%20(CSRF)&color=brightgreen) ### Description The Multiple Roles plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery in versions up to, and including, 1.3.1. This is due to missing or incorrect nonce validation on the mu_add_roles_in_signup_meta() and mu_add_roles_in_signup_meta_recently() functions. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to add additional roles to users via a forged request granted they can trick a site administrator into performing an action such as clicking on a link. ### POC #### Reference - https://blog.nintechnet.com/more-wordpress-plugins-and-themes-vulnerable-to-csrf-attacks/ - https://blog.nintechnet.com/multiple-wordpress-plugins-fixed-csrf-vulnerabilities-part-1/ - https://blog.nintechnet.com/multiple-wordpress-plugins-fixed-csrf-vulnerabilities-part-2/ - https://blog.nintechnet.com/multiple-wordpress-plugins-fixed-csrf-vulnerabilities-part-4/ - https://blog.nintechnet.com/multiple-wordpress-plugins-fixed-csrf-vulnerabilities-part-5/ #### Github - https://github.com/20142995/nuclei-templates
