v1.91.19.0 fix: severe fix wave (truthful gates, no lost memory, every host finds gstack) (#3025)
* docs: approved severe fix wave plan (Oct 2026) * D0: keep a project's .env and bunfig.toml out of compiled binaries and daemon children Compiled binaries are built with --no-compile-autoload-dotenv and --no-compile-autoload-bunfig; the browse server and terminal agent are spawned with --no-env-file and an empty config, so a repo's .env cannot set GSTACK_CHROMIUM_NO_SANDBOX and a bunfig preload cannot run code in them. Verified on Bun 1.4.0. * A9: --no-write is a dry run and leaves ingest state untouched --no-write stamped every prepared page ingested_at and saved state, so a later real run skipped those pages forever. It now prepares and reports pages without importing or changing the state file. Tests that used GSTACK_MEMORY_INGEST_NO_WRITE / --no-write to seed state move to an explicit seam (a fake gbrain that accepts every staged page), because the --no-write contract deliberately changes. * H #2885 #2827: vector geometry is not phone or card PII pii.phone.e164 accepts "." as a group separator, so a single float (viewBox="0 0 581.66796875 ...") and a run of path coordinates ("37.6188 101.694") read as phone numbers. pii.cc's \b stops at a decimal point, so the long fraction of an .excalidraw float is a Luhn candidate. Excalidraw's seed/versionNonce/updated integers read as bare phone numbers. A rendered /diagram triplet raised 18 (svg) and 97 (excalidraw) MEDIUM findings on main; it now raises none. - looksLikeDecimalCoordinates (ported from #2885, extended to a single decimal and refusing a leading "+", the E.164 marker) - insideDecimalNumber: a cc span glued to "<digit>." or ".<digit>" - isNumericMetadataValue: an unquoted JSON value under a seed, nonce or timestamp key; the same digits under "phone" still report Controls: E.164 in prose, dotted and spaced phones, "+"-prefixed runs, "phone"/"contact" JSON numbers, Luhn-valid cards in prose and at sentence end. Co-authored-by: Lewis <lewispeel@hotmail.com> * D1: pin the terminal-agent /ws Origin to the gstack extension (#1324) GSTACK_EXTENSION_ID moves to browse/src/extension-id.ts, shared by /extension-token and the terminal agent's /ws gate. /ws now returns 403 for every origin except the pinned extension. Forks override the ID with gstack-config set browse_extension_id <id>, honored by both routes; the BROWSE_EXTENSION_ID env var is no longer read. Test sites that used fake extension IDs now use the pinned origin. * H #2899: env.kv skips a function call assigned to a credential name `session = _FlakySession(...)`, `token = make_token(user, ...)` and `password = getpass.getpass()` raised env.kv MEDIUM, which blocks the fail-closed decision log. The exemption needs the line's evidence, not the span's shape: the value is unquoted, is an identifier or dotted path followed by "(", and the call closes on the line or opens a multi-line argument list. Quoted values, unclosed "(" inside an unquoted secret (API_SECRET=Abc123xyz(9Qm) and calls carrying a high-entropy literal argument still report. The literal check is shared with the #2912 env-read exemption. Co-authored-by: Yugz <yannduzelier@gmail.com> * H #2962: per-machine config filenames are not internal hostnames `CLAUDE.local.md` and `settings.local.json` reported internal.hostname MEDIUM (the pattern's \b stops at the dot before the extension), which fails closed in the decision log. A span immediately followed by a known config extension (.md .json .jsonc .yaml .yml .toml .ini .conf .txt) and a word boundary is a filename. Controls: `ssh build.local`, `printer.local.` at a sentence end, `printer.local/md`, `printer.local.mdx`, a host with a port, `api.corp`, `build-7.internal`. The `.env.local` vectors (#2740) pass on main already via isDotenvFilename and are pinned here as regressions. Co-authored-by: Florian <florian.cleyetmerle@gmail.com> * H #2784: four-part versions need a version declaration, not a shape `"version": "1.128.1.0"`, `<Version>`, `AssemblyVersion("1.0.0.0")` and Keep a Changelog headings raised pii.ip_public MEDIUM on every release, because a four-part version is byte-for-byte a dotted quad. Exempt only when the same line declares it a version immediately before the value (a version key or word, an XML tag, an attribute call, or a `## [x]` heading). The same digits after host:/server =/"upstream", bare on a line, or after prose that merely mentions a version still report. Unlike #2784, this does not exempt a value because the same string is declared a version elsewhere in the text: that let a real address sharing a diff with a matching version slip. The pre-push hook's VERSION-file rule (#2856) is unchanged. Co-authored-by: cdecook23 <decook23@gmail.com> * H #2913: postgres:postgres is exempt only on a loopback host The postgres image's default pair in compose files and CI DATABASE_URLs blocked pushes as db.url_with_password HIGH. It is now exempt only for postgres/postgresql URLs with exactly postgres:postgres on localhost or 127.0.0.1 (optional port). A bare single-label host (`db`, `postgres`), any other host, a host that merely starts with localhost (`localhost.evil...`, `localhost@prod-db`), any other user or password, and other schemes still block. #2913 exempted the pair on any host; this keeps the plan's narrower rule. Co-authored-by: mb1810 <michael.berger1810@gmail.com> * G1: ship without a version when no version source is configured Resolve the version source to four outcomes (valid, absent, ambiguous, broken) in lib/version-source.ts and read that one signal in gstack-version-bump (new NO_VERSION state; write refuses to invent a VERSION), gstack-next-version (no_version, no slot), /ship's bump, CHANGELOG and title steps, /land-and-deploy's drift check and /document-release. A configured version file that is missing, empty, unreadable or malformed stops with its path; 0.0.0.0 is never substituted. docs/skills.md documents .gstack/version-path. Migrates two tests that pinned the old fabricated-0.0.0.0 behavior. Co-authored-by: Koda <koda@edgeviewfinance.com.au> Co-authored-by: Merit Blake <merit@newsprint.com> * H #2949: eval credential screen checks every name segment The hermetic eval env admits GITHUB_* and EVALS_* metadata but rejects credential-shaped names, judged only by the last underscore segment. A trailing qualifier carried a credential through: GITHUB_APP_PRIVATE_KEY_BASE64, GITHUB_TOKEN_1, EVALS_API_KEY_FALLBACK reached eval children. The screen now rejects a name when any segment is a credential word; segments, not substrings, so GITHUB_PATH / GITHUB_TOKENIZER / GITHUB_KEYRING stay metadata, and explicit runner admissions still win. Co-authored-by: Nguyen Thanh Dat <ntdat812@gmail.com> * H #2915: cover chunked scanning of large multi-file push diffs Test-only coverage for behavior already on main: a clean two-file pushed diff over the engine's 1 MiB cap passes without engine.input_too_large, and a credential at the end of the second file (a later scan chunk) still blocks the push. Co-authored-by: pneumorea-ai <pneumorea@gmail.com> * A3: keep a project's DATABASE_URL away from a PGLite brain With a PGLite config, buildGbrainEnv returned the caller env unchanged, so a project's .env DATABASE_URL (autoloaded by Bun) reached gbrain: a false broken-db at best, gbrain talking to the app's own Postgres at worst. Inherited DATABASE_URL and GBRAIN_DATABASE_URL are now blanked for PGLite configs (GSTACK_RESPECT_ENV_DATABASE_URL=1 still keeps them), and every gbrain child runs from gbrain's config dir instead of the user's project, so it cannot reload the project's .env / .env.local. The old test that pinned pass-through for an engine:pglite config is migrated: pass-through now applies only to configs that name neither a database_url nor PGLite. Co-authored-by: maxpetrusenkoagent <max.petrusenko.agent@gmail.com> * C9: guard destructive gstack-upgrade and spec fences against unset or wrong paths Fresh-shell hosts (and Claude Code, which keeps cwd but not shell variables) ran cd "$INSTALL_DIR" with an empty variable, so git checkout/stash/reset targeted the user's project. Step 2 now prints an absolute path; every destructive fence starts with cd -- "${VAR:?...}" || exit 1 and checks it is gstack's own checkout before any git command. /spec's worktree and spawn fences get the same guard. * F4: keep every paid design variant across regenerate rounds $D variants now reserves a collision-safe round-<N>/ directory per run (atomic mkdir) and writes a manifest.json of what each round saved. The paid image request and the local write retry separately: a write failure retries the write (temp + rename) and, if the path stays unwritable, keeps the bytes in the temp dir instead of buying the image again. Responsive variants land in their round directory too. Readers updated: design-shotgun reserves a round dir and a private temp dir for its parallel agents and records approved_path/round in approved.json; design-html resolves approved_path (legacy letters still work) and finds round-dir variants; design-consultation checks the printed paths; the gallery shows round-dir variants. Variants that were already overwritten before this change cannot be recovered. Migrates the consultation contract test that pinned the flat path. Co-authored-by: Matt Van Horn <mvanhorn@gmail.com> * A2: stage dot-leading slugs gbrain can collect; network errors are db-unreachable A page slug segment starting with a dot (a .claude project) staged a file gbrain's import walker prunes, so the batch was refused on every run. Leading dots become "dot-" per segment, and slugs recorded in state under the old name map through the same function so no page is duplicated. A DNS or connection failure (ENOTFOUND, EAI_AGAIN, ECONNREFUSED, ...) no longer classifies as broken-db, which routed users to move a working config aside. The new db-unreachable status carries the reason "database host unreachable (<code> <host>); your gbrain config is unchanged. Fix: check network or VPN, then re-run /sync-gbrain.", skips local sync stages with that reason, and counts as usable for gstack-gbrain-detect --is-ok like timeout. Co-authored-by: Infiniteyieldai <infiniteyield.ai@gmail.com> * D2: one address classifier for navigation literals, DNS answers, redirects and page-driven navigations (#2811) classifyAddress() in url-validation.ts blocks 169.254.0.0/16 (metadata and container credential endpoints), 100.100.100.200, fe80::/10 and fc00::/7, including IPv4-mapped, IPv4-compatible and NAT64 spellings and decimal, octal and hex IPv4. validateNavigationUrl, the A/AAAA answer check and session-persist's cookie-domain guard all use it. BrowserManager now checks every navigation request (redirect hops, link clicks, scripted navigations): a blocked target resets the tab to about:blank and the write command fails with the reason. Connection-time DNS rebinding remains out of scope. Co-authored-by: Gabriel Rondon <grondon@gmail.com> * C4: external hosts point at carved sections relative to the installed skill Publishes the pointer form setup matches: on every non-Claude host a carved section is `sections/<file>` relative to the installed gstack-<skill> SKILL.md directory (QA's existing form), never $GSTACK_ROOT/<skill>/sections/, which does not exist in external runtime roots. No render changes yet: only QA is carved on external hosts today. * INV-1: gate outcome contract for outside reviews classifyOutsideReview() returns separate execution, findings and verdict fields from text, stderr and exit status; reason codes, anchors and fix actions live in lib/gate-outcomes.ts. validateOutsideReview() stays as the text-only wrapper and the two-argument CLI keeps exit 0/1/2 for importers and installed skills that predate a re-render. The --verdict form (implied by --stderr/--exit) prints VERDICT/FINDINGS/REASON and exits 0/3/4/1; the generated outside-voice caller moves to it and branches on each status (unverified prints OUTSIDE_STATUS: unverified, never completed). Adds docs/troubleshooting.md with one anchored section per reason code, the anchor test, and the gate-tail lint (query scripts may not swallow failures, gate calls may not end in || true, other best-effort tails say why). * G1: quote the base placeholder in document-release title sync The title-sync block is checked with bash -n; an unquoted <base> parses as a redirection. Migrates the test that pinned the old root VERSION read to the shared classifier call. * G3: give every logging-bin mktemp a ${TMPDIR:-/tmp} template Bare mktemp, mktemp -t and literal /tmp templates in the learnings, question and preference logs (plus jsonl-merge, distill, the two dashboards, /ship's PR body and /document-release's run dir) now use "${TMPDIR:-/tmp}/<name>.XXXXXX", the form the INV-3 lint accepts. When the temp file cannot be created, the learnings, question and preference logs now say the entry was not recorded and how to fix TMPDIR instead of exiting with only mktemp's own error. Three tests that pinned the bare PR_BODY_FILE=$(mktemp) and one that pinned the /tmp run dir migrate. GNU and BSD mktemp already honor TMPDIR without a template, so the macOS-sandbox drop in #2952 is unverified here; the template makes the temp location explicit on every mktemp. Co-authored-by: Davon Johnson <d.johnson@dayofshow.net> * B1b: structured outside-review gate fails on P0 as well as P1 validateOutsideReview() derived its structured pass/fail from a [P1] match, so a review reporting only [P0] findings passed. The wrapper now reads the classifier's findings verdict (P0 or P1), and the /review and /ship structured-gate prose requests [P0]-[P3] tags and fails on P0/P1; untagged output (OUTSIDE_STATUS: unverified) is missing coverage. The ship clarity pin moves from 'structured P1' to 'structured P0/P1' with the behavior. * E1: freeze normalizes boundary and target the same way on Windows; hooks spawn through cmd.exe (#2876, #2354) gstack_hook_normalize_path (careful/bin/hook-extract.sh) maps C:\..., c:/..., UNC \\server\share (leading // kept) and /cygdrive/c to one form; check-freeze runs both the saved boundary and file_path through it before the absolute test, after symlink resolution, and compares case-insensitively on Windows bash. freeze, guard and careful register hooks as bash -c "exec bash \"$HOME/...\"" so cmd.exe, which never expands $HOME, no longer turns the hook into a silent exit 127. Co-authored-by: Kevin Grasso <kevin@biblingo.com> Co-authored-by: Xuan-Ce Wang <261591073+xwang4-svg@users.noreply.github.com> * G4: keep CLI-to-daemon loopback calls off HTTP_PROXY (#494) The CLI appends 127.0.0.1, localhost and ::1 to the user's NO_PROXY (and no_proxy), keeping existing entries, before its first fetch. Verified on Bun 1.4.0: fetch honors NO_PROXY when it is set before the first request and ignores later changes, so it is set at the top of main(). * F1: bind the plan audit to this branch's plan, never the newest file Plan File Discovery now prefers an explicit binding (the plan-mode file or /autoplan ACTIVE_PLAN from the conversation, then a "Plan: <path>" line in the PR body), then lists candidates: repo-committed docs/designs/ files this branch changed or that name it, and personal plan files that name the branch. Candidates are offered, never picked silently. The repo-name match and the newest-file-of-the-day fallback, which audited PRs against unrelated plans, are gone. With nothing bound or chosen it prints the exact line 'Plan completion audit: not run (...). Fix: add "Plan: <path>" to the PR body, or run /autoplan.' /ship's parent now binds the plan before dispatching the audit subagent ({{PLAN_COMPLETION_GATE_SHIP:discovery}}), so the child never searches. Migrates three tests that pinned the old markers and notice. Co-authored-by: loulanyue <260355617@qq.com> * G5: browse type --selector <sel> <text> (#2936) --selector focuses the element (sel or @ref) and types into it. The bare form still types its text literally into the focused element; text that starts with -- goes after a -- separator. When the first word looks like a CSS selector, the result adds a hint to use --selector without echoing the typed text, and never refuses based on page contents. Help and command usage updated. Co-authored-by: Thomas Reuser <thomasreuser@gmail.com> * F2: design-doc discovery reads docs/designs, never a root DESIGN.md A root DESIGN.md is the design system /design-consultation writes, so preferring it unconditionally reviewed plans against a token file while printing "Design doc found" and never looked at docs/designs/ feature docs. Discovery now considers only docs/designs/*.md as the repo-local design doc (still freshness-compared with the private ~/.gstack copy). The CEO finding fixture seeds its supplied design as a docs/designs doc and its test follows. Co-authored-by: Bit0ps <alex.dreamscaper@gmail.com> * C4: rename the external carve test (typecheck:test union-order artifact) tsc prints a union's members in type-creation order; a test file sorting before ceo-mode-option.test.ts reordered one baseline diagnostic's text. * C1: every env-var host fence resolves its own gstack root Codex and the other env-var hosts run each block in a fresh shell, so GSTACK_ROOT/BIN, B and D set by the preamble were empty in later blocks (/bin/gstack-slug, B=/browse). scripts/resolvers/runtime-root.ts now owns root resolution: a valid exported GSTACK_ROOT (bin/ and lib/), else the per-install literal root (no git call), else repo-local, else the global root (CODEX_HOME on Codex); no root prints the setup fix line and exits. One post-render pass inserts it (<=400 bytes) into every fence that uses these variables without assigning them; B/D come from the same helper as BROWSE and DESIGN SETUP. Claude output is byte-identical. Migrated pins of the old preamble lines (gen-skill-docs.test.ts) and a fixture whose exported GSTACK_ROOT lacked lib/ (skill-positional-literals). * E8: headless browse honors GSTACK_CHROMIUM_PATH; extensions load in new headless mode (#2771, #1968, #2281) The headless launch passes GSTACK_CHROMIUM_PATH as executablePath, scopes the XProtect self-heal out for that bundle, and names the path in a launch failure with the fix. BROWSE_EXTENSIONS_DIR now launches a persistent context under the project state dir with --headless=new, so the extension runs and no window appears (the off-screen window was visible on macOS and the extension never ran in an isolated newContext). The GPU source guard test moves from the removed useHeadless flag to launch() vs launchHeaded(). Co-authored-by: oli548 <312288720+oli548@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Slava <slava.istomin@tuta.io> Co-authored-by: ryanlaiwy <129729476+ryanlaiwy@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: 李翊楠 <yinanli1917@gmail.com> * C2: link design/dist and make-pdf/dist into every host runtime root and the agents sidecar Codex design and make-pdf skills fall back to $GSTACK_DESIGN and $GSTACK_MAKE_PDF under the runtime root, but setup linked only browse/dist, so both preflights reported NOT_AVAILABLE on a fresh install. One helper links dist/ only (make-pdf/ ships a Claude SKILL.md) into the Codex, Factory, OpenCode, Cursor, Copilot and Kiro roots, the .agents sidecar and the Cursor sidecar. Co-authored-by: Mammad M. <mammad@digit.az> * C3: install router and nested SKILL.md files as real copies; back up hand edits; --status checks Codex skips a symlinked SKILL.md file, so the gstack router linked into ~/.codex/skills/gstack was invisible. Every host runtime root (Codex, Factory, OpenCode, Cursor, Copilot, Kiro) and Kiro's per-skill installs now get real copies, rewritten on every run (the auto-update path runs setup --refresh-registered, so it refreshes them too). setup records each copy's hash in <state root>/skill-copies.tsv; a copy that no longer matches is saved to a uniquely named backup under <state root>/backups/skill-copies/ before _activate_runtime_root replaces the tree, and a failed backup keeps the old tree. setup prints what it refreshed or removed. ./setup --status now prints, per registered install, whether the router is a real file and whether every section pointer resolves, with the fix command. Test migration: setup-codex-model pinned the Kiro router/upgrade links as _link_or_copy; C3 deliberately changes them to copies. * INV-3: install-level host conformance checks (no symlinked SKILL.md, dist present, section pointers resolve) For codex, kiro, factory, opencode, cursor and copilot, the real-setup conformance kit now fails when an installed SKILL.md is a symlink, when design/dist or make-pdf/dist is missing from the runtime root, or when a 'Read `.../sections/<f>.md`' pointer in an installed SKILL.md does not resolve (bare pointers in carved skills, relative-to-installed-skill pointers, and $GSTACK_ROOT/~/absolute/../ pointers everywhere), and ./setup --status must report 'all resolve'. No new setup runs. Expected red until the generator lane lands: design-html's install-offer pointer and plan-eng-review's review-sections pointer name $GSTACK_ROOT/<skill>/sections/... on every external host. * B11: auto-update tracks pull, setup and migrations; announces only on success; retries with backoff gstack-session-update wrote the 'just upgraded' marker after SETUP_FAILED or SETUP_SKIPPED bun_missing, and re-ran setup only when HEAD moved, so a failed install was announced as an upgrade and never retried. Stages are now persisted in <state root>/session-update-pending; the marker is written only when every stage succeeded; a pending setup or migrations stage is retried even with HEAD unchanged after the update-check interval, then 6h, then 24h; and each session start prints one line naming the stage, the reason and the repair command while it is pending. Best-effort tails carry a same-line reason. * D1: gstack-config key browse_extension_id for forks and self-built extensions The browse daemon trusts one Chrome extension ID on /extension-token and the terminal-agent /ws. The override now lives only in gstack-config (never an env var a project .env could set): empty by default (gstack's published extension), a 32-letter a-p Chrome ID when set, "" clears it, and anything else is rejected with the stored value kept. The browse lane reads it. gstack-config-defaults: browse/src counts as a reader directory; the key is listed prose-only until the browse lane's reader lands (the stale-entry check then asks for the entry's removal). * G2: key the sticky slug cache on the git common dir A linked worktree used to resolve its slug fresh from the remote while the main checkout kept its sticky pre-remote identity, so learnings, checkpoints and timelines split into two buckets. gstack-slug and its TS twin in lib/bin-context.ts now key the cache on the git common dir (read from .git files, no git spawn, so cache hits stay git-free) and read entries in one deterministic order: the repository entry, then the main checkout's pre-upgrade entry, then this directory's own. Both the repository and per-path entries are written. When a worktree's own old entry named a different bucket that still holds data, that slug is recorded in projects/<slug>/.former-slugs and reported by --get FORMER_SLUGS. New --adopt-legacy --from <slug> merges it: JSONL logs append missing lines with de-duplication, missing files copy, differing files are listed as conflicts and never overwritten, the source bucket is kept, and it prints migrated/pending/conflicting counts; reruns are idempotent. --adopt-legacy --dismiss <slug> drops the reminder. Co-authored-by: loulanyue <260355617@qq.com> * C5: OpenCode /gstack-* commands load the skill by its frontmatter name OpenCode's skill tool knows gstack-review as `review` (its frontmatter name), and OpenCode's builtin /review shadows that name as a command. The managed /gstack-review command told the agent to load `gstack-review`, a name the skill tool does not list. Every managed command now names the frontmatter name. OpenCode's AskUserQuestion/ExitPlanMode mapping (#2759) already shipped in v1.91.16.0. Test migration: the #2629 commands test pinned the directory name. Co-authored-by: Lockyer <135391289+Lockyer228@users.noreply.github.com> * E4: Windows node-server bundle keeps sharp and socks external; CLI resolves its server script lazily (#2260, #2439) build-node-server.sh passes --external sharp and --external socks (Bun on Windows refuses to inline them; on Linux they were silently inlined). The CLI no longer resolves server.ts or server-node.mjs at module load: resolveServerLaunch() runs when a server starts, so a Windows minimal runtime with only server-node.mjs works and a missing script is reported only when one is needed. Co-authored-by: Spooks444 <193448029+Spooks444@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: punksterlabs <77217235+punksterlabs@users.noreply.github.com> * B1: Codex reviews whose sandbox could not start are unavailable, not a pass In containers without unprivileged user namespaces every Codex command fails, yet the review exits 0 and concludes 'no findings' (captured in test/fixtures/codex-sandbox/). The validator now takes execution evidence: 'codex exec --json' command events and the 'codex review' stderr transcript (a command that succeeded proves execution); sandbox failure lines on stderr or in failed command output return unavailable(sandbox_unavailable); exact 'could not run commands / read the diff' phrases are the last fallback. Review text that merely discusses bwrap or namespaces still passes. A free 'codex sandbox ... true' preflight (Linux, 10 s) runs before the paid model probe and every automatic outside review; CODEX_MODE gains sandbox_unavailable, and an inconclusive model probe reports unverified instead of ready (exit code kept for stale callers). Every Codex site (outside-voice resolver, /codex review, challenge, consult) takes its sandbox from _GSTACK_CODEX_SANDBOX and pipes its result through the validator; a static test parses rendered command positions for both. GSTACK_CODEX_NO_SANDBOX=1 (exactly 1, shell env only) switches to danger-full-access with a warning on every use. Sandbox pins in existing tests move from the literal read-only to the selected-sandbox variable; captured autoplan probes are judged against the probe block they executed. * C6: gstack-relink discovers skills structurally, so /browse survives a skill_prefix toggle relink skipped a hardcoded list of support-directory names that included browse, a real skill, so toggling skill_prefix removed /browse. A top-level directory is now a skill exactly when it carries a SKILL.md. Co-authored-by: Jonathan Zhang <topcoder1@Mac-Studio.local> * C4: carve ship and plan-ceo-review on every host; enforce the 160 KB byte gate The generated ship skill was 202-241 KB on all 10 non-Claude hosts (and Factory plan-ceo-review 160,039 bytes), over the 160,000-byte ceiling, because section carving ran only for Claude. Both skills now carve on every host, pointing at sections relative to the installed skill directory (literal $GSTACK_ROOT/<skill>/sections refs are rewritten the same way). The ceiling is measured in UTF-8 bytes and fails generation in repo mode; under --install-root it warns so setup never leaves a user without skills. qa-lazy-sections.test.ts pinned ship as inline-on-external-hosts; migrated to the carved policy and kept the inline check on review (Claude-only carve). * B5: learnings and timeline reads fail loudly when bun is missing gstack-learnings-search and gstack-timeline-read ended in '2>/dev/null || exit 0', so a missing bun or a crashed embedded script printed nothing and exited 0, identical to 'nothing recorded'. Both now exit 127 with '<script>: bun not found on PATH, so ... could not be read. Fix: install Bun (https://bun.sh), then re-run ./setup.' and let an embedded-script failure exit non-zero with its stderr. A successful run with no matches still exits 0 with empty output. The generated callers that print 'LEARNINGS: unavailable (...)' belong to the generator lane. Co-authored-by: loulanyue <260355617@qq.com> * B2: a retired-model 404 reports MODEL_UNUSABLE, not CODEX_MODE: ready The model probe matched only 400 / 'is not supported', so a retired model's 404 ('does not exist or you do not have access to it') and a custom provider's bare 404 fell through to the inconclusive branch and reported ready. Both now classify as MODEL_UNUSABLE with a hint naming the two causes (retired model, or a wrong base_url) and log codex_model_retired; a 'requires a newer version of Codex' 400 points at upgrading the CLI and logs codex_cli_outdated. Ported from #2843 onto the current probe. Co-authored-by: Marek Cermak <marek.cermak@strv.com> * B6: rank learnings by matched query tokens and disclose truncation A more specific query used to drop the exact match: the token-OR filter recalled every entry sharing one token, the sort used confidence alone, and the default --limit cut silently. Entries now rank by how many distinct query tokens they match, then confidence, then recency, and a query that matched more than fit says '-- N more matched, raise --limit to see them'. The hit count lives in a local map so a field stored on disk can never become a sort key, and the type grouping uses a null-prototype map so a row typed 'constructor' or '__proto__' cannot crash the run. Ranking code ported from #2796; regression vectors adapted from #2799 (its stemmer is not needed). Co-authored-by: loulanyue <260355617@qq.com> Co-authored-by: y$un_ <forrest.sun527@gmail.com> * C7: required team mode also blocks Copilot CLI's lowercase skill tool Copilot CLI applies Claude-format matchers by tool name; its skill tool is `skill`, which no Claude tool name maps to, so the 'Skill' matcher never fired and Copilot ran protected skills without gstack. The hook entry now matches 'Skill|skill', an entry an older team-init wrote is upgraded in place, and the deny is emitted in both decision formats (Copilot reads the top-level permissionDecision, Claude Code reads hookSpecificOutput) with exit 0 so both parse it. Test migration: the settings test pinned matcher 'Skill'. Co-authored-by: neallee <neallee@gmail.com> * B3: Codex auth probe accepts custom providers' env_key credentials The auth probe only knew CODEX_API_KEY, OPENAI_API_KEY and auth.json, so a working self-hosted or OpenAI-compatible provider configured with [model_providers.<id>] env_key = "X" reported AUTH_FAILED and /codex stopped. The probe now reads env_key from model_providers tables only (comments ignored, the name must be a shell identifier before it is dereferenced) and accepts a set variable; when none is set it names the missing key on stderr. Ported from #2192 with the table scoping added. Co-authored-by: hardy <932821449@qq.com> * E8: keep the extensions profile under the state dir at a path lock cleanup accepts cleanSingletonLocks only cleans directories named chromium-profile, so the BROWSE_EXTENSIONS_DIR profile moves to <state>/extensions/chromium-profile. * B10: plan-tune never reports CALIBRATED with zero signal events Stats printed CALIBRATED: true from logged-answer counts alone, while every answer could miss SIGNAL_MAP and leave each dimension at its 0.5 seed (#2623). --derive now records inferred.signal_events, the answers that actually moved a dimension; calibration requires at least one, and the summary prints 'not calibrated: no recorded signals' verbatim when there are none (or says the count is unknown for a profile derived before this change). The psychographic redesign stays out of scope. * A1: verify gbrain landing before stamping transcripts, plus --reconcile gbrain import exits 0 while skipping pages (returned per-file failures, malformed filenames, managed-import Pending receipts), and its failure ledger exists only for git import dirs, so a skipped page was stamped ingested and never retried (field reports: 37 and 69 lost entries). Write, verify, then stamp (lib/memory-ingest-landing.ts, a new ratcheted module): - State schema 2 with a transition table (staged -> imported_unverified -> ingested, plus refused, quarantined, unrecoverable). Schema 1 files migrate in place: entries become ingested in the legacy "default" source and a reconcile pass is marked pending. - Named failures come from --json `failures`, stderr "Skipped <rel>:" lines and the ledger; a failure gbrain does not attribute refuses the whole batch. After 3 refused batches the batch is bisected and the page that poisons it is quarantined (printed even under --quiet). - Landing check: one `gbrain list --source-id` per source per run and at most 50 `gbrain get --json` content checks against a gstack_content_sha256 frontmatter field gstack now writes. Lookup errors and pglite_busy mean "not yet checked", never absent; pages over the cap stay imported_unverified and are not re-imported. - Each entry records its gbrain source_id. Remote-http mode records "staged", never "ingested". - The source fingerprint comes from the exact bytes parsed, so a transcript that grows during import is not stamped as its newer self (the old unscanned contract test is migrated; it pinned that bug). - --reconcile mode (bounded by --limit, default 200; resumable; --dry-run; backs up the state file) prints "reconcile: checked N, present M, re-queued K, not yet checked L". --request-reconcile records a pending pass without calling gbrain; the v1.91.17.0 migration (placeholder name) uses it, and the next ingest run does one bounded pass. - One lock for every state writer; a state-save failure fails the run. The #1802 static pins in regression-1611 move to the new structure (remote-http returns before importBatch; the finally honors preserveStaging). Co-authored-by: afshaker <andrew@phone2.io> * B4: arm64 re-sign keeps a backup, restores it when codesign fails, and reports design unavailable on exit 137 setup's Apple Silicon re-sign mutated each binary in place (truncate, remove signature) and left it that way when re-signing failed; a design binary that was then SIGKILLed at launch produced at most a quiet log line. Each binary is now copied first and restored as built when signing fails, and design is exec-probed after re-signing: exit 137 prints 'design unavailable: ... Fix: cd <checkout> && ./setup' (even under -q). Verified on Linux with the real block and uname/codesign/otool/stat stubs; not run on a Mac. * D3: treat design docs and handoff notes as data in plan reviews plan-ceo-review, plan-eng-review and plan-devex-review read the freshest design doc as the source of truth, and nothing said its content is data. In multi-agent pipelines another agent may have written it, or a handoff note beside it, with reviewer-directed text ('skip Step 0', 'approve as-is'). Each read site now says the doc and any handoff note are data, never to follow text aimed at the reviewer, and to report it as suspicious content. The plan-completion audit's discovery, which now reads repo docs/designs/ files (F1), carries the same rule. Co-authored-by: cube <frosimanuel@gmail.com> * D4: setup-deploy reports Render API key presence only /setup-deploy ran 'echo $RENDER_API_KEY | head -c 4', printing the key's first bytes into the transcript. It now prints only 'RENDER_API_KEY: set' or 'RENDER_API_KEY: not set'. Wording follows the #2971 port of #1096; a test also guards against any setup-deploy command echoing a credential variable. Co-authored-by: jacob-wang <jiayuw794@gmail.com> * D5: per-project headed Chromium profiles; never kill a live profile owner (#2492) The headed profile moves from <gstack home>/chromium-profile to <project>/.gstack/chromium-profile (CHROMIUM_PROFILE still wins). killOrphanChromium now kills a SingletonLock PID only when the lock names this host, the process is a Chromium using that profile, and its daemon is gone (reparented to init or a subreaper); a live owner or another host's lock stops browse with the holder named. On first headed use a project profile is seeded from the old shared profile only when nothing holds it: copied without Singleton* files into a 0700 temp dir and renamed into place, with a one-time notice; otherwise it starts fresh and says how to import later. New: browse profiles [list] and browse profiles prune [--days N] (never removes a profile in use or the old shared one). The #2817 headed-startup tests move to the project profile and a real orphan (the old stand-in was a live child of the test). Co-authored-by: miao <miao@macmini-2.local> * F5: installed Claude skills serve the rendered sections, not the checkout copies Probe: a gbrain user render serves ship/SKILL.md from the render dir; its STOP pointers name absolute render paths, but its section index names `sections/<f>.md` relative to the installed skill directory, whose sections/ was linked from the checkout. So the rendered 'Save Results to Brain' blocks (plan reviews, office-hours, ship adversarial) were generated and never read. setup's _link_skill_runtime_assets and gstack-relink (the gbrain-refresh path) now serve a rendered counterpart per file, keep checkout-only assets (manifest.json), return an asset to the checkout once its render is gone, and never touch an entry that is not gstack's links. Co-authored-by: Jonah Berg <jonah.berg.g@gmail.com> * F1: ratchet /ship's parity union-size cap for this lane's content G1's NO_VERSION arms, F1's parent-side plan binding and D3's data line add 2,126 bytes to /ship's skeleton-plus-sections union, taking it from 1.4022x to 1.4135x of the v1.64.1.0 baseline (cap was 1.405). The cap moves to 1.414 with the measurement recorded, as earlier growth did; no other invariant changes. * E5: feed every Codex prompt on stdin instead of argv Prompts went to Codex as one argv string ('codex exec "$(cat file)"'), which fails over 32 KB on Windows (and over 128 KB on Linux, E2BIG) and mangles quotes. Every codex exec site (outside-voice resolver, /codex review custom instructions, challenge, consult new and resume) now runs 'codex exec -' with the prepared prompt file on stdin; challenge and consult write the prompt with a quoted heredoc so it is never shell-parsed. The bash-native timeout watchdog (stock macOS) started the command in the background, which gives it /dev/null as stdin; it now passes the caller's stdin through. The 'byte for byte' dispatch test drops its old argv trailing-LF exception, the consultation and autoplan fixtures follow the stdin form, and the static site test requires stdin at every rendered codex exec. * G6: prettyscreenshot --hide keeps a trailing image path as the output path (#1419) --hide collected every following non-flag argument as a selector, so the output path was hidden instead of written to. A trailing argument that looks like a path or ends in .png/.jpg/.jpeg/.webp is now the output path. Co-authored-by: Jayesh Betala <jayesh.betala7@gmail.com> * INV-3: render-level host conformance and generated-bash lint on every host One render per host checks every fence of every SKILL.md and section file: bash -n with angle-bracket placeholders normalized; the env-var host prelude and its B/D consumers run under env -i and set -u with stub binaries (no empty value, no /bin/, /browse, /design or /gstack- path); and a quote-aware lint (test/helpers/generated-bash-lint.ts) fails on a ~/ word inside double quotes, mktemp without a TMPDIR-respecting template, and cd/rm -r/mv/git -C on a variable the fence never assigned unless written ${VAR:?...} (cd must also handle failure). Negative controls plant each failure. Templated the bare mktemp calls in generator-owned resolvers and the upgrade fence; migrated the two tests that pinned the bare form. * G6: analytics averages quoted duration_s values (#1728) gstack-skill-end writes duration_s as a quoted string, and the per-skill average stripped everything from the leading quote, so every average read 0s. The awk now drops a leading quote before extracting digits. Co-authored-by: Ryan Alberts <ryan.a.alberts@gmail.com> * G6: gstack-ios-qa-daemon --help prints usage instead of starting the daemon (#1932) Co-authored-by: maxpetrusenkoagent <max.petrusenko.agent@gmail.com> * G1: tighten /ship's NO_VERSION wording to fit the union-size cap Same behavior in fewer bytes: the NO_VERSION arm, the broken-source exit, the unprefixed-title rule, the Step 20 null and the CHANGELOG skip. The cap ratchet commit measured this wording. * G6: rejected taste preferences gain confidence (#1777) bumpPref computed every entry's confidence from approved_count, so a rejected entry, which never gains approvals, stayed at 0: show ranked rejections by insertion order and the taste-drift warning could not fire from real use. Confidence now uses the entry's own bucket count. Also salvaged by Garry's #2971. Co-authored-by: Jayesh Betala <jayesh.betala7@gmail.com> * E2: Windows /cso build disables only C5105, and a failed MSVC compile is not reported as a missing toolchain The Windows SDK's winbase.h raises C5105, which /W4 /WX promotes to error C2220, so every MSVC build of the native /cso helper failed, and setup mapped every probe failure to 'install Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools'. Both compile lines add /wd5105 (only that diagnostic), and setup keeps the probe's output: a probe that found MSVC but failed to compile reports windows-msvc-compile with the compiler's first error. Not run on Windows: the mapping test stubs powershell.exe; the ps1 assertion runs everywhere. Co-authored-by: AlinValentin7 <AlinValentin7@users.noreply.github.com> * E6: gbrain-refresh hands the detection file to Python on stdin Under Git Bash, a native Windows Python first on PATH cannot open an MSYS /c/... path, so gbrain-refresh always summarized the detection as 'local-status: unknown' and brain-aware blocks were suppressed. bash now opens the file and Python reads stdin; the grep fallback without Python is unchanged. Verified on Linux with a stub Python that refuses path opens; not run on Windows. Co-authored-by: maxpetrusenkoagent <max.petrusenko.agent@gmail.com> * G6: context-save computes session duration on Linux (#2704) The duration step parsed 'ps -o lstart=' with BSD-only 'date -jf', so on Linux session_duration_s was always unknown. It now falls back to GNU 'date -d', and never parses an empty start (GNU reads that as midnight). Ported onto the current block instead of #2704's ~/.gstack/sessions mtime, which bypassed the state root. Co-authored-by: Evgenii Lopatin <e75533@gmail.com> * Q2: one-time notice naming the Codex provider and account for outside reviews Outside reviews are on by default and use whatever Codex login exists (#965). The first automatic Codex review on a machine now prints one non-blocking notice: the provider (config.toml model_provider, else openai), where the credential comes from (CODEX_API_KEY, OPENAI_API_KEY, the ChatGPT login or the key saved by codex login; never the value), that reviews stay on, and how to turn them off (gstack-config set codex_reviews disabled). A marker in the gstack state root keeps it to once per machine. Tests that run the generated command now use private state roots. Also shortens the no-sandbox provenance line. * Q1: validate browser output paths the way the kernel resolves them (#2971 salvage) validateOutputPath walks the destination one component at a time, resolving each existing component before the next, so link/../x, a dangling symlink and a dangling symlinked parent can no longer route a write outside the safe directories, while a new multi-level directory inside them is allowed. scrape validates its manifest and every downloaded file, not only --dir. Ported from PR #2971 onto current code. * G6: retro test census counts non-JS suites, skips generated output The census recognized only JS/TS-style names, so pytest and minitest (test_*.py|rb), XCTest (Tests/ dirs, FooTests.swift), Terraform (*.tftest.hcl) and Bats (*.bats) suites counted as zero, and a committed build directory counted as authored code (and its Test/ subdirs as test LOC). is_test now knows those conventions and never treats prose as a test, generated output is skipped in the numstat pass, TEST_FILES_CHANGED uses is_test, and TEST_FILES_TOTAL uses the same filename conventions minus generated paths. Merges #2812, #2809 and #2037's patterns (#2037's retro template edits target a block the metrics bin replaced). Co-authored-by: Jino <dgfrty00@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: snig-17 <santosh.m.tiwari@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Sholto McNeilage <sholto@nodenarrative.com.au> * Q3: setup stops auto-installing the AskUserQuestion preference hook in Conductor and removes one it added The PreToolUse question-preference hook breaks Conductor's native AskUserQuestion round-trip even when it only defers (#2207), and setup auto-installed it on every Conductor workspace setup. Now a Conductor setup without an explicit opt-in never installs it and removes an existing one (the question-log and AUQ-error hooks stay), printing how to keep it (gstack-config set plan_tune_hooks yes). An explicit opt-in still installs it. gstack-settings-hook remove-source gains --event to scope the removal. Test migration: setup-plan-tune-hooks-noninteractive pinned the retired Conductor auto-opt-in. Co-authored-by: Phil Hie <philhie@outlook.com> * E5: watchdog stdin test feeds the wrapper through a redirect Callers run '_gstack_codex_timeout_wrapper ... codex exec - < file'. Bash keeps stdin for a backgrounded command inside a pipeline but not behind a redirect, so the pipe form passed on the old watchdog; the redirect form reproduces the lost prompt. * F4: type the variant-round fetch stub like the existing stubs The test-typecheck ratchet flagged the zero-argument stub cast to typeof fetch; it now takes the fetch arguments like variants-retry-after's stub. Test behavior unchanged. * A4: import transcripts into per-repository, non-federated gbrain sources `gbrain import` ran without --source-id, so transcripts from every project landed in the shared (often federated) default source. - Each transcript partition imports with --source-id into its originating repository's own source (gstack-transcripts-<repo>, built with constrainSourceId, now exported from lib/gbrain-sources.ts). The source is registered machine-local and --no-federated before its first import, and the registration is cached in state. Partitions import one after another (PGLite is a single writer); a failing source no longer blocks the others, except a timeout, whose checkpoint must survive. - If gbrain cannot register the source, that partition stays local and unstamped, and the run says why (even under --quiet). - --include-unattributed sends repo-less transcripts only to the machine-local gstack-transcripts-unattributed source, keeps them on the machine when the brain is remote (Postgres, Supabase or remote-HTTP), and never writes them to the publishable ~/.gstack/transcripts staging. - A page's recorded source is sticky: pages stamped before this release ("default") keep importing there, so no source gains a duplicate. - The staging dir name carries -src-<id> so a resumed import keeps its source. Test fakes that recorded only the last import now record every import of one run, and answer `gbrain sources`; remote-http scan tests use an attributed transcript, since unattributed ones no longer stage there. Co-authored-by: Sinabina <sinabina@Sinabinas-MacBook-Pro-4.local> * F3: load the taste profile, and report a failed slug lookup The taste-profile probe double-quoted ~/.claude/.../gstack-slug, so the tilde never expanded and /design-consultation and /design-shotgun always printed NO_TASTE_PROFILE. Use quoteSafePath(); stop hiding gstack-slug's stderr and print TASTE_PROFILE_UNAVAILABLE with the fix when the slug cannot be resolved. * B4: DESIGN_READY only when the design binary actually starts DESIGN SETUP (and office-hours' visual exploration) printed DESIGN_READY for any executable binary, so one SIGKILLed at launch by an invalid macOS code signature still passed. Launch it under the portable 10-second deadline (gtimeout, timeout, or perl alarm); otherwise print DESIGN_NOT_AVAILABLE with the exit code, 'timed out after 10s', or on 137 the code-signature hint and 'Fix: cd <checkout> && ./setup'. A success is cached by inode and mtime under the state root so Gatekeeper's first-launch scan is paid once. The probe launches the binary with no arguments (usage, exit 0): the design CLI has no --version command today. * C2: name the runtime root every way a generated preflight may read it in the dist test The generator lane's C1 resolves D from $GSTACK_ROOT instead of $GSTACK_DESIGN, so the test now exports GSTACK_ROOT as well; it still fails on main (no dist in the roots) and passes with and without the C1 change. * A5: brain-sync stage fails loud when the artifacts source indexed zero pages The stage reported "curated artifacts pushed" whenever gstack-brain-sync exited 0, but a git push is not gbrain indexing. After a successful push the stage now reads the maintained artifacts source's page count (GSTACK_BRAIN_SOURCE_ID, else the source whose path is the artifacts worktree or state root): zero pages is ERR with the fix command; a missing source or an unavailable count says so instead of claiming indexing. Co-authored-by: Jimmy Zeisweiss <4261258+jzeisweiss@users.noreply.github.com> * B1: state the effective read-only sandbox in /codex review prose The codex parity invariant requires the skill to state sandbox_mode="read-only"; the command now takes it from _GSTACK_CODEX_SANDBOX, so the prose names the effective default explicitly. * A6: report deleted-worktree gbrain sources; prune only with proof, on request A deleted Conductor worktree leaves its gstack-code-<hash> source behind and gbrain's autopilot fails on it forever. Local absence is not proof a source is dead (machines sharing a federated brain register their own paths, and its pages may be the only copy of uncommitted work), so gstack never removes one automatically. - Each sync counts consecutive misses for gstack code sources whose path is missing, prints "path unavailable" once per source with the review command, and records which repository each synced source belongs to. - New gstack-gbrain-sync --prune-gone-worktrees (with --dry-run, whose plan it always prints first) removes a source only when its path was missing on two consecutive syncs, its parent is readable, recomputing deriveCodeSourceId() for that path on this host yields its id, and the repository's git common dir still exists and no longer lists the worktree. It re-checks the path right before removing (through the #1734-guarded safeSourcesRemove) and logs each removal. * D0: pass the Bun child flags after 'run' so wrappers that rewrite 'bun run' argv keep working bun run --no-env-file --config=/dev/null <script> has the same effect (verified on Bun 1.4.0) and keeps argv[1] === 'run', which the publication-lock fixture's preload injection relies on. The sidebar-tabs source guard now expects the flags in the terminal-agent spawn. * E8: count the BROWSE_EXTENSIONS_DIR persistent launch in the signal-flags guard The new launch site carries handleSIGINT/SIGTERM/SIGHUP false like the other three, so the guard's expected count moves from 3 to 4. * D2: give the memory-leak reproducer's fake request isNavigationRequest() wirePageEvents now runs the navigation guard on every request event; the fake request adapter supplies the method real Playwright requests have. * A7: run only the resolve_symbol_edges dream phase, detected first /sync-gbrain --dream and the --full auto-build ran gbrain's full dream cycle (~35 minutes, LLM phases) when the call graph needs only the resolve_symbol_edges phase. The stage now runs gbrain dream [--source <id>] --phase resolve_symbol_edges when the installed gbrain accepts that phase (detected by behavior: gbrain validates --phase before printing --help). Otherwise it skips the forced dream and says the full cycle costs about 35 minutes and how to run it, instead of starting it. Co-authored-by: liutiming <timingliu@outlook.com> * D0: keep the dotenv isolation test runnable on the Windows lane The compiled probe gets its .exe name on Windows, and the terminal-agent case (owner identity comes from ps) is skipped there. * B9: read cycle_freshness from a doctor run that includes it /sync-gbrain Step 3.5 and the --full auto-dream decision read CYCLE from gbrain doctor --json --fast, which skips the DB checks that carry cycle_freshness, so the answer was always "unknown". Both now read gbrain doctor --json --scope=brain (DB checks, no skill-file walk), parse its JSON even when doctor exits 1 for a failing check, and match the issue that names this source: "never completed" is never, "last cycled Nh ago" is completed. When the installed gbrain does not report the check, they say "unknown: installed gbrain does not expose cycle_freshness" (lib readCycleStatus carries the reason to the --full SKIP row). The source-probe fixture that pinned the --fast call and a made-up message format now answers --scope=brain with gbrain's real message. * B4: compact the launch probe (cache keyed on inode, valid while newer than the binary) Keeps design-consultation inside its parity size budget. * C4: migrate the ship docs-dispatch test to the carved external ship On Codex and Factory the documentation dispatch now lives in sections/documentation.md behind a pointer relative to the installed skill, like Claude; the test pinned the old inlined layout. * B5: learnings callers report a failed search instead of reading as empty Every generated gstack-learnings-search caller ended in 2>/dev/null || true, so a missing bun or a failed search looked like 'nothing recorded'. Callers now keep stdout, capture stderr and the exit status, and print 'LEARNINGS: unavailable (<first stderr line>)' on failure (resolver callers in learnings.ts and review-army.ts, plus investigate, qa and ship's adversarial section). * F1: ship and review count unverified/unavailable outside reviews as missing coverage INV-1 consumers in this lane's templates: /ship's readiness note, its PR body Pre-Landing Review section and /review's completion rule now say an outside review reporting unverified or unavailable is missing coverage, never a pass. The PR body's Plan Completion section prints F1's not-run line instead of the old 'No plan file detected.' The /ship union-size cap moves to 1.415 for these lines (measured 1.4148). * A8: rename the artifacts repo with OWNER/REPO, rewrite the remote only after it The v1.27.0.0 migration passed a bare repo name to gh repo rename / gh repo edit, which always fails (gh wants [HOST/]OWNER/REPO), then step 2 rewrote ~/.gstack-artifacts-remote.txt to the never-renamed repository. - Qualify both names with the owner from the recorded remote URL (else the signed-in gh user) and surface gh's error. - Step 2 moves the remote file but rewrites the URL only once the rename is confirmed; a later successful retry rewrites it then. - A pending journal now counts as state to migrate, so the #1383 retry actually re-runs step 1 (it used to see no legacy file and declare the migration done). - The v1.91.17.0 migration (placeholder name) repairs installs already hit: when the remote names gstack-artifacts-<user> that does not exist but gstack-brain-<user> does, it restores the old URL in the remote file and ~/.gstack's origin and says so. It only calls gh for such a remote and never fails the upgrade. Co-authored-by: Brandon Pugsley <aibpaem@gmail.com> * B8: read gbrain JSON with bun instead of jq in install and wireup gstack-gbrain-install read package.json with jq but never checked for it, so on a machine without jq a successful install failed with "cannot read version". gstack-gbrain-source-wireup hard-failed without jq ("brew install jq" is not actionable on git-bash), so the wireup was skipped on every run. Both now read the JSON with bun, which they already require. Co-authored-by: benjamin beres <benjamin.beres@bienpreter.com> * B4: shorter probe messages (design-consultation parity budget) * B5: shorter capture variable names (parity budget) * E7: find the Aside CLI in ~/.local/bin when it is not on PATH (#2902) The installer puts aside in ~/.local/bin, which is not on the default macOS login PATH, so the probe said NEEDS_ASIDE ('download Aside') for a healthy install. The probe now falls back to ~/.local/bin/aside, drives the resolved binary, and prints READY: <path> when it is off PATH so later blocks run that path. Ported from PR #2965 onto the current _gs_d probe. Co-authored-by: Som Samantray <som.samantray@gmail.com> * A2: key the dot-slug catalog entry on the message users actually saw * E1: cmd.exe-safe investigate freeze hook On Windows Claude Code runs hook commands through cmd.exe, which cannot parse the single-quoted bash -c argument, so /investigate's scope-lock hook never ran. Use one double-quoted bash -c script that names the hook path directly (no S= variable: POSIX sh would expand $S to empty and skip the hook). * F4: design resolver reads per-round variant paths $D variants now writes $_DESIGN_DIR/round-<N>/variant-*.png and prints JSON with roundDir, manifest and paths. The mockup flow and comparison-board loops build the board from those printed paths instead of hardcoded variant-{A,B,C}.png, and approved.json records approved_path and round so a round-1 choice made after round 2 still resolves. * E4: generators tolerate Bun's spurious EEXIST on Windows (#2329) Bun on Windows throws EEXIST from a recursive mkdir of an existing directory, so gen:skill-docs and the llms.txt writer crashed once a second file landed in a directory. Both now use lib/fs-utils' mkdirpSync (ported from PR #2329 onto the existing helper instead of a new scripts/fs-utils.ts). Co-authored-by: Vaughan <vaughan@cairnsitguy.com.au> * C7: keep the required-mode hook's exit-2 deny Copilot CLI treats a preToolUse exit 2 as deny (its hooks reference), and #2413 established exit 2 plus hookSpecificOutput as the shape Claude Code enforces, so the deny output stays as on main; only the matcher and the in-place upgrade of older 'Skill' entries change. * C3: guard Kiro's router copies on a present source; give the QA pointer adapter the copy and dist helpers A copy fails where a symlink dangled, so the Kiro router and upgrade copies are written only when their render exists (as every other runtime root already does). test/qa-lazy-sections' extracted Kiro installer now supplies _link_runtime_dists (C2) and the SKILL.md copy helpers (C3). * Q3: office-hours asks open-ended questions in a Q<N> prose form (#2719) In Conductor, and whenever AskUserQuestion fails, prose is the only channel, and the prose fallback defined only the D<N> decision brief. Phase 2A/2B diagnostic questions have no option set, so the model dropped the phase. Office-hours' preamble now defines the Q<N> open-question form (question, why I'm asking, what a strong answer sounds like) and routes free-text replies to it; the diagnostic sections name it. Scoped to office-hours so every other skill's preamble is unchanged. Ported from PR #2729. Co-authored-by: Bharadwaj Mittapelli <bharadwajmittapelli@gmail.com> * A2: render db-unreachable like timeout gbrain's new db-unreachable status is a transient network failure; a setup run while offline must not strip brain-aware blocks from every skill. * A2: treat db-unreachable like timeout in gbrain-refresh The memory lane's new db-unreachable status (network or DNS failure, config intact) is transient, so gbrain-refresh keeps rendering brain-aware blocks for it exactly as it does for timeout instead of suppressing them. * C8: a render given disabled skills drops them from the router (#3018) The root router named every skill and ends 'When in doubt, invoke the skill', so it routed to skills the user disabled. gen-skill-docs takes --disabled-skills (runGeneration disabledSkills): the router drops their routing rules, keeps the other side of an 'A or B' rule, and names them as disabled. The router and gstack-upgrade cannot be disabled. With no disabled skills the render is byte-identical. * G2/G3/INV-1: skill-start former-bucket notice and visible learnings failure; TMPDIR mktemp in gbrain bins; best-effort reasons * C9: Step 2 falls back to the install registry's source checkout (DX-7) Codex users who installed from the README's ~/gstack clone got 'ERROR: gstack not found' from /gstack-upgrade: Step 2 only looked under host skill directories. It now falls back to the source checkout the install registry recorded for the current host. * B4: design --version prints the version, and the probe uses it The design CLI treated --version as an unknown command (exit 1), so the probe launched the binary with no arguments instead. Add --version (prints the gstack version, exit 0, before auth or network) and probe with it, so messages read '<path> --version exited <code>' as planned. * C4: no external render points at a section file that is not installed design-html's detector install offer and plan-eng-review's self-check pointed at $GSTACK_ROOT/<skill>/sections/<file> on every external host, where neither skill is carved and no section tree exists. design-html now inlines the offer off Claude, and a skill's pointer to its own {{SECTION}}-inlined section names the inlined text. * C1: skillify finds the browse SDK under its own host's install root The template hardcoded ~/.claude/skills/gstack for the canonical browse-client.ts, so external hosts read another host's install or nothing. A new INSTALLED_ROOT resolver (sibling of INSTALLED_BIN_DIR) names the host's global root, or the per-install root when setup renders for one. * C4: rewrite section refs on hosts whose root stays a literal ~/<globalRoot> Kiro, OpenCode, Cursor and Copilot render ~/.claude/skills/gstack as their own literal root, not $GSTACK_ROOT, so plan-eng-review's self-check pointer escaped the rewrite (found by the setup lane's installed-pointer check). * Integrator: outside-voice fences use the shared runtime prelude; TMPDIR mktemp and per-round variant paths in design templates * Integrator: C8 router omits disabled skills on every render (relink renders the served Claude router in place); Windows-safe E4/E6 entries; investigate hooks under the cmd.exe check; browse_extension_id reader; order-insensitive test typecheck identities tsc printed one unchanged ceo-mode-option diagnostic's object members in a different order (content?/isError?) once lib/fs-utils joined the generator's import graph; identities now sort object-type members, and old baselines normalize on read. * Q1 (#2971 salvage): bound iOS proxy responses One wall-clock deadline covers headers and body (stalled and dribbling bodies time out), the whole body is capped at 64 MiB (upstream_response_too_large), every terminal path clears its timer, removes listeners and destroys the request, and the daemon threads the deadline through both listeners. Ambiguous mutations are still never replayed after a timeout or abort. Ported from #2971's proxy-transport work plus the size bound. * I1: grade the AUQ matrix's (recommended) marker on option labels, the field the auto-decide hook reads The decision-brief format puts a Pros / cons block with 'A) ... (recommended)' in the question text and the same marker on the option label. The matrix counted both and failed all six skills in periodic run 37151477069 with 'expected exactly one (recommended) option, found 2'. The question-preference hook reads labels only, so the gate now checks the native question: a Recommendation line in the question text and exactly one label ending in (recommended). Fixtures move to the native question shape and add the real spec capture plus a marker-only-in-text negative control. * Q1: type the proxy-transport test doubles (typecheck:test ratchet) * INV-1: gate outcome rows and troubleshooting sections for every lane's new messages * Release v1.91.19.0 (next free patch in the queue: #3022 holds 1.91.17.0, #3023 holds 1.91.18.0); migration renamed; engines.bun >=1.4.0 to match the CI pin (#2815) * v1.91.19.0 docs and metadata: CHANGELOG, TODOS, README troubleshooting/upgrade/type --selector, BROWSER.md type and profiles, AGENTS.md conventions, CONTRIBUTING #2949, touchfiles for the wave's new lib/bin files * I1: give hermetic Codex runs a temp dir beside CODEX_HOME so Codex can create its PATH aliases Codex 0.160 refuses to create its helper aliases (codex-linux-sandbox among them) when CODEX_HOME sits under its temp dir, and the runner put the hermetic home under the shard TMPDIR. Periodic run 37151477069 shows the warning and 'Unable to spawn codex-linux-sandbox ... No viable candidates found in PATH' for every exec_command in codex-sol-scope-termination. * I1: Codex evals fail a review whose commands never ran and stop reading tool errors as skill-load problems validateCodexReview accepted codex-review-findings in periodic run 37151477069 although its only command failed in bwrap ('I couldn't run the review'); it now requires execution evidence from classifyOutsideReview (B1's INV-1 classifier). codex-sol-scope-termination failed on 'apply_patch verification failed: invalid hunk' because the skill-load check matched any 'invalid'; it now matches Codex 0.160's skill-loader diagnostics only. * I1: run paid eval containers with seccomp unconfined so Codex's sandbox can start Docker's default seccomp profile blocks the user namespaces bubblewrap needs, so every Codex command in a paid eval failed with 'bwrap: No permissions to create a new namespace' (codex-review-findings, run 37151477069). Reproduced in the CI image locally: default profile fails, seccomp=unconfined runs the command. The runner stays non-root. * I1: shared-libs plan actor reads one exclusion grammar for scope lists Periodic run 37151477069 refused 'Existing-caller migration and helper hardening stay out of scope' as a hardening proposal: the actor had two partial exclusion rules (unanchored is/are/remains outside, and an anchored list that only stays unchanged), the third refusal at this boundary after 36633323521 and 36776104571. One anchored predicate now covers a bare list of scope nouns (hyphenated compounds included) with is/are/stays/remains and unchanged/untouched/excluded/out of scope/outside/not part; any other verb in the clause is still read as a proposal. Adds the real capture and two adversarial controls. * Parity caps: measured v1.91.19.0 union/skeleton sizes for ship, review, design-consultation, office-hours and design-shotgun, with the reason beside each * Regenerate generated output for v1.91.19.0 (gen:skill-docs --host all, goldens, llms.txt, context-budget fixture) * I1: plan-eng-review writes the Test Plan Artifact even while test choices are pending Periodic run 37151477069 (plan-eng-review-artifact): a non-interactive review recorded every Test review choice as pending and never wrote the QA test plan, because Step 5 said to write the artifact 'when these test and eval choices are resolved' while the artifact section says to list unresolved choices as pending. Both now say to write it after the decision gate, with unanswered choices under Pending Decisions. The pinned sentence becomes a meaning-level check. * I3: plan-eng-review states when findings first enter the report and that the scope menu's recommendation needs no repo probe Judge rationales for 'plan-eng-review/SKILL.md sections' (actionability 3.67 in periodic run 37151477069, clarity 3 in 36385945043 and 35567915613) cite two concrete tensions: 'do not add findings before Scope Challenge C' versus the ledger saves C itself performs, and 'Recommendation: A when a branch diff exists' versus 'do not probe for session state'. The write policy now says findings first enter through Scope Challenge C's ledger saves; the selector says its Recommendation line advises the user and needs no repository inspection. The pinned sentence becomes the new meaning-level regex. * I3: plan-ceo-review defines the closing sequence's cleanup step Two of three judge samples for 'plan-ceo-review/SKILL.md modes' in periodic run 37151477069 (actionability at the 4.0 gate) flag 'perform permitted cleanup' as never defined. The only cleanup the skill has is archiving old CEO plans, which needs approval; step 5 now says so. * I3: /qa-only's value-card rule names only its own card location qa-only rendered the /qa line 'Put it in the 8e.5 record (/qa) or under each proposed test (/qa-only)'; judge samples for 'qa-only/SKILL.md workflow' (actionability at the 4.0 gate in run 37151477069, 3.67 in 36907895813) flag the /qa-only-irrelevant 8e.5 record. The qa-mode bar now renders the invoking skill's location; both skills get shorter. * test-of-test ratchet: a repo script or setup read by path counts as product code codex-invocation-sites (runs scripts/gen-skill-docs.ts), gstack-config-gbrain-refresh (copies bin/<name> through a variable) and setup-cso-windows-probe (reads setup and scripts/build-cso-windows.ps1) exercise product code the detector could not see. * I1: DX floor actor strips the editor hint from the footer line only (from #2971) The custom-field reply normalization removed 'ctrl+g to edit in <editor>' from every line, so question text that resembled the menu footer could be rewritten and still authenticate. Only the last non-empty line is the footer. Ported from Garry's #2971 with its negative control. * I4: attribute every census testcase; deselections never count as SKIPPED The paid report counted every skipped JUnit testcase as SKIPPED and every testcase whose name was not a registry id as unattributed. On the 2026-10-03 census (run 37151477069) that was SKIPPED 82 / unattributed 72 (periodic) and SKIPPED 282 / unattributed 24 (gate), and every case-shard sibling also wrote a skipped history record that reset its pass-rate series. - attributeJUnitCase: a name is its registry id or CASE_TEST_NAMES label, else the only id its file registers, else the keyless file itself. Skipped other-tier cases, case-shard siblings, isolated or unselected cases and Bun's '(unnamed)' hook placeholders are zero-credit deselections with a reason and write no history record. Anything else is listed by name as unattributed. - One result and one history record per case per shard; a genuinely skipped selected case counts as SKIPPED and is listed with its reason, also in report-summary.md and collector-outcomes.json. SKIPPED panels show their reason and skipped trials are no longer called assertions. - CASE_TEST_NAMES labels for the three /cso cases. - tierSkipReason: a computed registration whose lane-tier ids are all registered to other test files is excluded at plan time, so the four gate and two periodic files that ran with every test skipped no longer take a runner. Census rerun: periodic SKIPPED 0 / unattributed 0, gate SKIPPED 0 / unattributed 0; verdicts unchanged. * I5: split the deploy file per case; guard PR-lane shard walls at 600 s test/skill-e2e-deploy.test.ts ran 668 s as one gate shard in the 2026-10-03 census (six sequential cases, 51-201 s each). It is now case-sharded, so each case is its own shard with its own (smaller) supervision budget; no timeout or budget was raised. - CASE_SHARDED_FILES gains the deploy file (names already equal ids). - Gate duration seeds for the six case keys from the census JUnit walls, so packing stays at 12 gate-census slices (CI cap 230m -> 200m). - shardDurationViolations + PR_LANE_SHARD_LIMIT_MS: a free test fails when a planned gate shard's recorded wall (committed seed, and the last gate census in test/fixtures/paid-report-census/gate-census-durations.json) exceeds 600 s. - Tests that pinned deploy as one shard follow the split (cookie planner keys, reuse fixture key, release/PR floors). * TODOS: /review fingerprint under Codex's read-only .git sandbox (found by the live Codex check) * Free-suite repairs from the first integrated Ubicloud run Product: - Outside-voice fences carry runtimeRootPrelude(ctx) explicitly again, so the resolver output runs on its own (the post-render pass skips fences that already assign GSTACK_ROOT); outsideVoiceRuntime stays deleted. - D5: an explicit CHROMIUM_PROFILE (gbrowser's per-workspace gbd) is never seeded from the shared profile or registered for `browse profiles prune`; this was also the free suite's write to the real ~/.gstack/browse-profiles.json. - gstack-ios-qa-daemon: BASH_COMPAT=50 for its >512-byte --help heredoc. Tests migrated to the wave's deliberate contract changes: - B1 heading admits `unverified`; sandbox flag is ${_GSTACK_CODEX_SANDBOX:?}; verdict-form output (VERDICT/FINDINGS/REASON); fake codex follows the preflight + stdin + -o form; Q2 notice marked shown in a private state root. - C1: an exported root needs bin/ and lib/; a lone GSTACK_BIN is not honored. - C4: plan-ceo-review is carved on every host (carrier, discovery and methodology fixtures read sections/ when the render has it). - E7: READY prints the resolved Aside path. - INV-3: the cookie-approval reconstruction reverses the bun-install mktemp template. - F1's `Plan:` binding read gets a reasoned tracker-guard exemption. - Browse stubs stop their server instead of scheduling process.exit; the headless launch check only counts browsers its own launch started. * Regenerate generated output after the outside-voice prelude repair * I1: revert the seccomp-only eval container option; it does not let Codex's sandbox start Run 37158847998 on this branch and a stock Ubicloud VM both show that seccomp=unconfined only moves bubblewrap's failure from 'No permissions to create a new namespace' to 'Failed to make / slave: Permission denied'. Codex's sandbox started only with the host sysctl kernel.apparmor_restrict_unprivileged_userns=0 plus seccomp and AppArmor unconfined on the container, which a container job cannot set from its steps. The relaxation bought nothing, so it goes; the fix is filed as a TODO for the integrator. This reverts commit |

v1.91.11.0 refactor: one state-root rule, browse route table, shared shard engine, PTY harness split, MECE review resolvers (#3002)
* refactor(resolvers): split review.ts into MECE resolver modules (pure move) Move every function from scripts/resolvers/review.ts, unchanged, into: - review-dashboard.ts: review dashboard, plan-file review report - plan-gates.ts: approval check, exit-plan-mode gate, plan-file discovery, plan-completion audit/gate (ship + review), plan verification exec - spec-review.ts: both spec review loops, benefits-from, anti-shortcut clause - outside-voice-steps.ts: Codex second opinion, adversarial step, Codex plan review, Codex doc review, disabled-outside record - review-scope.ts: scope drift, cross-review dedup, shared-code reuse review.ts is deleted; index.ts imports the new modules. gen-skill-docs output is byte-identical for every host (--host all). Test imports and source-path references are re-pointed; the two source-text report/gate tests in gen-skill-docs.test.ts become behavioral renders across every consuming skill and host. All 46 touchfile entries that named review.ts now name all five modules, guarded by a recorded selection golden. * test(browse): black-box auth matrix for every server route and both surfaces Drives buildFetchHandler fetchLocal/fetchTunnel with no token, wrong token, root token, scoped token and the SSE cookie for all 33 routes, plus unmatched paths and wrong methods. Denials assert today's exact status, body and content type; allowed credentials assert the handler was reached. Written against the unchanged if-chain server so the W3 route-table refactor must keep it green. * refactor(shard-engine): move scripts/test-strict-output.ts to scripts/lib/shard-engine.ts The shared shard engine grows from the existing strict-output module (runShardChild, killProcessGroup, signal forwarding, strict classifier). scripts/test-strict-output.ts stays as a re-export so existing importers, mock.module paths and the strict-output/run-shard-child tests are unchanged. The engine inherits the global touchfile entry; the free runner's CLI-routing fixture copies the new module. * refactor(resolvers): decompose the three >150-line review resolvers (output-neutral) Split generateAdversarialStep, generateCodexPlanReview and generatePlanCompletionAuditInner into per-section helpers whose template literals are copied verbatim, so every function in the new modules is at or under 150 lines. gen-skill-docs output is byte-identical for every host (--host all, compared against |

v1.65.0.0 feat: fork port wave 2 — feature fixes, session persistence, Apple releases, supply-chain CI (#2577)
* fix(memory-ingest): pass --include-gitignored to gbrain import gstack-artifacts-init writes an ignore-everything .gitignore (a bare `*`, headed "Do not edit") at the root of ~/.gstack. The memory ingest stages pages into ~/.gstack/.staging-ingest-<pid>-<ts>/, which is inside that repo, and gbrain's markdown collector honours .gitignore. The collector therefore matches every staged file against `*` and collects zero. The failure is silent. gbrain import exits 0 having imported nothing while the ingest prints `written: N` from the STAGED count rather than the imported count, so a run that indexes nothing looks identical to a healthy one and the memory corpus quietly stops growing. Reproduction, using git's own ignore machinery (no gbrain needed): git init . mkdir -p .staging-ingest-12345/learnings echo x > .staging-ingest-12345/learnings/page.md printf '*\n' > .gitignore git ls-files --others --exclude-standard # -> empty Passing --include-gitignored makes the import independent of whatever .gitignore sits above the staging directory. Adding a negation to the generated .gitignore is the alternative, but that file is gstack-owned and marked "Do not edit", so any regeneration silently reintroduces the bug. Adds a regression pin in the shape of memory-ingest-no-put_page.test.ts, plus a behavioural test for the collision itself. Both source pins fail against the unpatched file. * fix(memory-ingest): GIT_CEILING_DIRECTORIES defense-in-depth on the import child (#2144) Second layer under #2560's --include-gitignored: a realpath'd ceiling at the staging dir's parent pushes any git-enumerating collector off the git fast path (which sees zero files under ~/.gstack's ignore-everything root) onto its plain FS walk, even on gbrain builds whose flag semantics drift. Ceiling is realpath'd because git compares canonicalized directories during discovery — a staging dir reached through a symlink (macOS /var -> /private/var, symlinked $GSTACK_HOME) otherwise never matches. Behavioral tests prove discovery stops at the ceiling from the staging dir, including through a symlinked path, using git itself — no gbrain required. Mechanism ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(autoplan): Phase 4 task aggregator emitted zero tasks on every run (#2018) The branch+commit jq filter piped to the split commit array and then referenced .commit — jq rebinds context across a pipe, so .commit indexed the ARRAY with a string, every input line errored into 2>/dev/null, and || true swallowed the exit. The aggregate table has been empty for every user since the feature shipped. Bind .commit to a variable before the pipe. Functional pin extracts the ACTUAL emitted jq program from the resolver and runs it against fixture JSONL (verified RED against the broken filter), plus a source-shape guard against reintroducing a context-rebinding reference. Fix mechanism from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(codex): BSD mktemp templates broke /codex on every macOS install (#2091) macOS mktemp requires the X's to end the template; the five "codex-*-XXXXXX.txt" sites failed with "mkstemp failed ... File exists" before Codex ever ran (reproduced live on this machine). Same class fixed in claude/SKILL.md.tmpl's three sites. bin/gstack-paths now strips macOS's trailing slash from TMPDIR so TMP_ROOT-built paths stop carrying "//". Static tripwire scans every tracked .tmpl for characters after the X-run in a mktemp template (longer X-runs stay valid), plus a live portability check of the emitted shape. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(decision-log): --supersede silently discarded the replacement decision The supersede/redact branch appended the retirement event and exited before the JSON argument was ever read — a user recording a reversal WITH its replacement lost the replacement, and the payload finder's first-non-flag-arg predicate would have mistaken the target id for JSON anyway. Payloads are now identified by their leading brace, validated BEFORE any write, and appended FIRST (retirement second), so the only visible interleaving under a crash is both-active — recoverable, never lost. The replacement carries supersedes:<old-id> provenance. Bare --supersede <id> (the documented reversal-without-replacement) stays legal; --redact with a payload now refuses instead of dropping it. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2), tests included. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(brain-context): cold-start probe latency permanently disabled gbrain context gbrainAvailable() spawned gbrain --version under a 500ms budget; a cold CLI start on a loaded machine blew the timeout, misclassified gbrain as missing, and every skill session silently ran brainless — plus the per-query re-probe burned 3x the budget before any real work. Replaced with a memoized stat-based PATH scan (PATHEXT-aware on Windows) and made the query timeout overridable via GSTACK_BRAIN_TIMEOUT_MS for loaded CI environments. Also picks up the fork's manifest-filter coverage (#1687 shape) against the fake-gbrain harness — passes against our existing filter support. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(setup-gbrain): voyage-code-3 flags were silently dropped under zsh (#1798) zsh does not word-split an unquoted $VAR, so all three PGLite-init sites passed the entire flag string as ONE argv word — gbrain ignored it and silently fell back to its default embedding model, downgrading code retrieval for every zsh user (macOS default shell). Flags now ride the positional params (set -- ...; "$@"). Tests run the shape under BOTH bash and zsh against the fake-gbrain argv recorder (per-word argc log distinguishes one-blob from split), include a demonstration of the zsh collision on the old shape, and pin the template's three sites statically. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(model-benchmark): recognize macOS Keychain auth in the claude adapter (#1890) The default macOS Claude Code install stores OAuth under the Keychain generic-password service "Claude Code-credentials" and never writes ~/.claude/.credentials.json, so available()'s file-or-env sniff reported "No Claude auth found" while claude -p worked fine. On darwin the sniff now also probes the Keychain entry — metadata only (no -w, the secret is never read), 5s timeout, any security(1) failure degrades to not-found. Verified live on this machine (subscription install, no creds file, Keychain entry present). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(upgrade): v1.27 migration no longer auto-proceeds without a TTY or records a failed rename as done (#1383) Two silent-failure shapes in one script. Non-interactive runs (Claude Code Bash tool, CI) blanket-auto-proceeded into a REMOTE repo rename — now they skip-for-now by default and ask again next upgrade; unattended runs opt in with GSTACK_MIGRATE_ASSUME_YES=1. And a failed gh rename was journaled as done and the done-touchfile written, permanently stranding a half-renamed install — the failed step now stays PENDING with the manual command printed, finalize refuses the done-marker while any step is unjournaled, and the migration exits 1 with a re-run pointer while completed steps still skip on retry. Harness updated to opt in explicitly; new tests pin the default-skip and failure-stays-pending-then-retry-succeeds contracts (13/13). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ship): REST fallback when gh pr edit hits the Projects-classic GraphQL deprecation (#1079) On repos where GitHub enforces the Projects-classic sunset, gh pr edit hard-errors on repository.pullRequest.projectCards and Step 19's PR body update dies. The template now names the error shape, says it is not an auth problem, and falls back to the REST endpoint (gh api pulls/N -X PATCH) with the SAME already-redaction-scanned temp file for body and title. Generated SKILL.md regen rides the cluster regen commit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ship): test-command detection was blind to Django and config-less-but-tested projects The Test Framework Bootstrap detected Python only via requirements.txt or pyproject.toml and treated missing config files as no-tests, so a green 'python manage.py test' Django app, a Go project with *_test.go beside the source, in-source Rust #[test] blocks, or a package.json with only a test script all got offered a SECOND test framework over a working one. Detection now enumerates definitive per-ecosystem markers (manage.py, tox.ini/setup.cfg, pom.xml/gradle, Makefile test targets, a tracked-file test census, in-source Rust tests) as EVIDENCE for the question it asks — never a command to run blind — preserving the read-CLAUDE.md-or-ask contract, with a marker→candidate-command table and ask-once persistence. The shared coverage-audit detection block gains the same markers. Test runs the resolver's emitted detection bash against Django / Go / Rust / Node fixtures in throwaway git repos. Ported from time-attack/gstack commit e3259078 (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: regenerate SKILL.md files for cluster A (autoplan jq, codex mktemp, setup-gbrain zsh, ship detection + REST fallback) Atomic regen of the 9 generated files whose templates/resolvers changed in the A-cluster commits. bun run gen:skill-docs, no hand edits. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test: refresh ship goldens + parity ratios for cluster A growth Codex/Factory hosts render single-file ship skills whose committed goldens must track template changes; refreshed from the regenerated renders. Parity size guards bumped with the growth itemized — ship (carve-guards) 1.08 -> 1.10 for the detection-evidence + REST-fallback growth measured at 1.090x, qa (parity-harness monolith invariant) 1.07 -> 1.12 for the shared coverage-audit markers measured at 1.111x. Kept tight so the next growth is a deliberate decision, not drift; the Apple adapter raises ship again with its own justification. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(gbrain-sync): enforce the per-repo policy at the code-import chokepoint (#2140 sync path) The deny/read-only tiers in ~/.gstack/gbrain-repo-policy.json were stored by gstack-gbrain-repo-policy but enforced only in /sync-gbrain skill prose — a direct or cron invocation of gstack-gbrain-sync ingested repo code regardless. Worse: the code stage's egress receipt has cited 'per-repo policy chokepoint (repoPolicyTier)' as its consent since v1.63 while no such function existed. repoPolicyTier() now gates the stage before the dry-run branch: deny → refused-policy-deny (exit 1, loud), read-only → clean skipped-policy-read-only (code ingest writes pages), unreadable store → fail-closed refused-policy-unreadable, no store → unchanged fail-open. Subprocess tests pin all four paths against real git repos and a permission-blocked store (verified RED against the ungated binary). The receipt's consent string is truthful from this commit. #2140's ingest-path source-isolation ask remains open — partial-progress comment at ship. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ios-qa): /auth/sessions no longer hands raw bearer tokens to any local process The loopback sessions list echoed live tokens — a harvest-and-replay primitive for anything on the machine (same class as the /health token leak fixed in v1.63). The list now returns a device-salted 16-hex token_id plus metadata; the salt is shared with the attempts log so identifiers correlate. /auth/revoke keeps the list→revoke workflow alive by accepting token_id alongside the caller's own raw token and identity. saltedHash() is exported from audit.ts and writeAttempt now reuses it (was inlined). Integration tests pin raw-token absence, the id shape/metadata, and the token_id revoke round-trip (verified RED against the leaking handler). List fix ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2); token_id revoke is ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ios-qa): boot token out of os_log entirely; IPv4 listener pinned to loopback at the socket The StateServer's bootstrap announce logged the live boot token with privacy: .public — and nothing consumed it: the daemon has read the token from the 0600 app-container file since the devicectl copy flow landed. The log line handed a credential to anything reading the unified log during the launch window. It now announces port/build only. The IPv4 listener bound the wildcard interface and relied on the per-connection peer check alone; IPv4 has no CoreDevice tunnel path, so it now binds 127.0.0.1 via requiredLocalEndpoint at the socket level. IPv6 keeps the wildcard bind for CoreDevice ULA peers by design. Static pins cover both the template and the fixture app copy. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(make-pdf): close the offline-gate bypass via raw-HTML fetch vectors With --allow-network off, the sanitizer stripped script/iframe/link but let Chromium fetch remote resources at print time through four raw-HTML vectors: <style> @import (any form), remote url() in <style> blocks and inline style attributes (incl. protocol-relative //), srcset with a remote candidate (Chromium prefers srcset over the inlined src), and remote src/poster on video/audio/source/track. All neutralized at the sanitizer; remote <img src> is deliberately left for the image inliner so its blocked-remote placeholder still fires, and url() mentions in prose/code spans stay untouched. Fork's test suite ported verbatim (12 cases incl. the end-to-end render assertion), verified RED against the old sanitizer. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(pair-agent): tunnel activation is consent-gated — and the receipt's consent claim is now real The tunnel egress receipts have claimed consent: 'pair_agent=on' since v1.63 while no such key or gate existed — ngrok installed+authed was enough for the CLI to auto-start an internet-facing tunnel. isPairAgentEnabled() (fail- closed, env-overridable) now gates all three activation points: CLI auto-start, POST /tunnel/start (refuses with the enable hint), and the BROWSE_TUNNEL=1 startup bind. Consent-on-first-use, not silent breakage: the /pair-agent skill asks once (one-way-door posture), sets pair_agent via gstack-config (registered with on|off validation, default off), and never asks again; direct API callers get the same hint in the refusal. Adapted from the fork's gate: their reader targeted config.json, which on main would have made the gate silently un-enableable — ours reads the canonical ~/.gstack/config.yaml with the JSON shape as fallback, pinned by tests either way (11 cases, gate wiring tripwires included). Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2), store adaptation ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: regenerate pair-agent SKILL.md for cluster B (consent gate) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(browse): cancel the parent watchdog when handoff promotes a daemon to headed The parent-process watchdog assumes connection mode is fixed at boot: headless daemons outlive their parent, headed ones do not. The env guards (BROWSE_PARENT_PID=0, BROWSE_HEADED=1) only cover daemons that were headed when they started. handoff breaks that assumption. It swaps in a headed context on a RUNNING daemon and sets connectionMode = 'headed' without a restart, so a daemon that legitimately registered a watchdog lands on the fatal side of the branch. The parent is usually a short-lived shell, and Claude Code's Bash tool kills one after every invocation, so the next 15s poll shuts the daemon down. The user-visible effect is that handoff destroys the thing it just created. It exists so a human can log in, solve a CAPTCHA, or clear an MFA prompt; the browser disappears about fifteen seconds later and takes the session with it. Observed while driving two registrar control panels: five daemon deaths and three logins, each one discarding the authenticated session. BrowserManager now exposes onHeadedPromotion, fired only on runtime promotion and not on a headed boot, and the server binds it to a canceller for the interval it already owned but previously discarded. Bound on both the module-level manager and any embedder-supplied one, since the watchdog reads activeBrowserManager and binding only the default would let embedders promote silently. The binding sits next to the browserManager declaration rather than next to clearParentWatchdog. Placing it with the function, which lives with the watchdog it cancels, reads better but touches browserManager in its temporal dead zone, which aborts module evaluation and leaves every later const uninitialized. findport tests catch that immediately. Tests: watchdog.test.ts already noted in its header that its three cases all fix mode via env at spawn time, so none reaches the headed branch. Driving a real handoff needs a headed Chromium, so the wiring is pinned with static tripwires instead, matching cdp-session-cleanup.test.ts and server-auth.test.ts. Verified they fail when the notification call is removed and pass when restored. Full `bun test` shows the same 6 pre-existing failures on this branch and on main (gstack-gbrain-detect, gstack-artifacts-init), which pass in isolation on both, so they are test-order pollution rather than a regression here. * fix(browse): pass windowsHide so the daemon stops popping console windows On Windows, `browse` leaves empty black console windows on top of whatever the user is doing — they pop up every few minutes for as long as any browser skill is alive, and outlive the process that created them. Cause: `bun-polyfill.cjs` maps `Bun.spawn`/`Bun.spawnSync` onto node's `child_process`, and node defaults `windowsHide` to **false**. Bun never creates these windows, so nothing in the daemon's own code looks wrong — the behaviour only appears on the node fallback path. The one users notice is `spawnTerminalAgent()`, which launches `bun run terminal-agent.ts` through this shim. The daemon respawns it on a watchdog, so closing the window is not enough — a new one arrives shortly after. Ten `bun.exe` processes were live on the machine this was diagnosed on. Why they linger after the child exits: with the default terminal application set to "Let Windows decide", the console is brokered through Windows Terminal via svchost, and WT leaves the empty frame behind when its only child exits. The frame has no child process at all, which is why it looks like a dead terminal. Setting `windowsHide: true` on both wrappers fixes every console child routed through the shim — the bun agent plus the `tasklist`, `git` and `powershell` calls elsewhere in the daemon. No behaviour change on macOS or Linux, where the option is ignored. Not covered by this commit: `chromium.launch()` goes through playwright's own process launcher rather than this shim, so it still creates one window per daemon start. Worth a follow-up. * test(browse): make bun-polyfill tests runnable on Windows, and cover windowsHide `bun test browse/test/bun-polyfill.test.ts` was **0 pass / 4 fail on Windows** before this — every test in the file, on the platform the polyfill exists to support. Each test interpolates the polyfill's absolute path into a single-quoted JS string passed to `node -e`. On Windows that path has backslashes, so JS eats them as escapes: 'C:\Users\jwilk\dev\gstack-fork\browse\src\bun-polyfill.cjs' -> C:Usersjwilkdevgstack-forkrowsesrcun-polyfill.cjs (`\b` is a real escape, so it deletes a character too.) `require()` throws, the subprocess dies, stdout is empty, and every assertion compares against "". The tests pass on macOS and Linux purely because those paths have no backslashes. Fixed by interpolating with `JSON.stringify(polyfillPath)`, which quotes and escapes correctly on all platforms. Also adds a regression test for the windowsHide fix in the previous commit. It stubs `child_process.spawn`/`spawnSync` *before* the polyfill destructures them and asserts the captured options, so it is deterministic and needs no window — it verifies the contract on macOS and Linux too, where the option is a no-op. Verified on Windows: 5 pass / 0 fail with the fix, and the new test alone fails ("VISIBLE" instead of "HIDDEN") when the previous commit is reverted. * fix(browse): forward windowsHide through the Bun polyfill spawn shims The Node fallback shim accepts a Bun.spawn options object and forwards only stdio, env and cwd to child_process.spawn. windowsHide is dropped, and because Node defaults it to false while Bun.spawn hides the console window, the omission inverts the behavior on the one platform the shim exists to support. Symptom: the terminal-agent respawn in server.ts (60s watchdog ticker) pops a visible bun.exe console window on Windows every time it fires, so the window keeps coming back with no scheduled task or startup entry behind it. stdio:'ignore' silences the child's output but does not suppress its window. Both shims now forward the option and default it to true, matching the Bun API being emulated; an explicit windowsHide:false still passes through. spawnTerminalAgent also sets it explicitly at the call site. Tests: three cases in browse/test/bun-polyfill.test.ts assert the default for spawn and spawnSync and that an explicit false is honored. Each was confirmed to fail against the unpatched shim. Drive-by, required to run the suite at all on Windows: the tests interpolated an absolute path into a JS string literal, so backslashes were consumed as escapes and every require() failed with MODULE_NOT_FOUND. The path is now normalized to forward slashes. On Windows this file went from 0/4 passing to 7/7. * fix(browse): headed mode on macOS 26 — stop mutating the signed Chromium bundle, heal the ones we already broke (#2242, #2138, #2139) The in-place rebrand rewrote the Chrome-for-Testing bundle's Info.plist (global name replace — which also renamed CFBundleExecutable to a binary that doesn't exist) and overwrote its Resources/*.icns, breaking the codesign seal: GPU process exit_code=5, headed mode dead on macOS 26. The mutation lived in the SHARED Playwright cache, so it also poisoned the user's other Playwright projects. Three layers land together: (1) the rebrand block is gone — branding lives in the GStack Browser.app wrapper via GSTACK_CHROMIUM_PATH, with a tombstone and a static tripwire (no plist/icns writes into the bundle; the tripwire allows the read-only probe below); (2) a launch-time self-heal detects an already-poisoned cache bundle, removes it, and errors with the exact re-fetch command — covering deploy paths that never run migrations; (3) migration v1.64.0.0 sweeps every cached bundle, removes poisoned ones, and re-fetches clean Chromium immediately (migrations run after ./setup, so without the re-fetch an upgrade would end with zero working browser). Functionally verified against fixture caches: poisoned removed, clean untouched, rerun no-op. Migration filename tracks the final VERSION at ship. The #2242 watchdog half is the absorbed PR #2565 (thanks @Screddyice). Tombstone/tripwire ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2); self-heal and migration are ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(browse): 'browse stop' no longer restarts the daemon it was asked to stop The stop handler awaited shutdown() — which ends in process.exit — before returning, so the acknowledgement never egressed. The CLI's fetch reset, which its crash path reasonably interpreted as a dead daemon: it relaunched Chromium, re-sent stop, watched the daemon exit again, and errored 'Server crashed twice in a row'. Every stop cost a wasted Chromium launch and a nonzero exit. The ack now returns first; shutdown fires on a 25ms unref'd timer. Same fix for restart. Fork's test pins ack-before-teardown for both. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(browse): lock acquisition reports real errors instead of phantom contention (#1084) acquireServerLock's bare catch treated EVERY failure as 'another process holds the lock' — a missing state dir, EACCES, or ENOSPC read as permanent phantom contention with nothing to debug. Now only EEXIST is contention: ENOENT self-heals with one mkdirSecure retry, everything else throws ServerLockError carrying the real errno, and the stale-lock unlink/retry loop is depth-capped so it can't livelock. Fork's five-case test ported. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(browse): integration coverage for #1781 busy-vs-dead recovery Fork's wedged-daemon fixture: first /command connection drops, daemon PID stays alive. Pins the whole contract — CLI retries the same daemon instance without a kill, state file untouched, no restart, exactly two command requests. Message-text assertion adapted: our CLI retries silently at the probe layer where the fork announces on stderr; the behavior, not the message, is the invariant. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(browse): windowsHide on every Windows-reachable spawn (#1835) Console windows flashed (and stole focus) on every daemon relaunch, taskkill, tasklist poll, and powershell DPAPI call — node-level spawns default windowsHide to false. Covered: the node -e launcher (outer spawnSync AND the inner detached daemon spawn inside the launcher string), the dev-mode bun fallback, killServer's taskkill, isProcessAlive's tasklist, and cookie-import's powershell + tasklist. The Bun-polyfill shims were covered by absorbed PRs #2523 + #2539 (thanks @jwilk-hrep, @jerrynicholsai); this closes the sites those PRs didn't reach. The icacls sites land with the #1605 DACL commit alongside the static tripwire that pins all of them. R8's planned spawnHidden() helper is deliberately NOT built: the polyfill default plus the tripwire achieve the no-drift goal without indirection over seven heterogeneous call shapes. The polyfill + spawn-hide tests join the Windows CI shard. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(browse): self-repair broken Windows DACLs on state dirs (#1605) icacls '/inheritance:r /grant:r' can partially fail on localized or domain accounts: inheritance strips but the user grant doesn't resolve, leaving a machine-SID-only DACL the owner can't even list — the sidebar/PTY failure chain in #1605, caused by the very hardening call meant to protect the dir. mkdirSecure now verifies listability after hardening (a real readdir — fs.accessSync doesn't consult NTFS ACLs) and repairs via icacls /reset, re-hardens, and if hardening breaks access again leaves inherited ACLs: functional-but-unhardened beats hardened-but-unusable. The icacls calls carry windowsHide (#1835's last two sites) and the fork's static spawn-hide tripwire lands here, pinning every covered site. file-permissions.test.ts is already in the windows-free-tests curated shard, so the DACL contract executes on windows-latest. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(browse): opt-in session persistence — auth survives daemon restarts (#778, #2193) BROWSE_PERSIST_STATE=1 snapshots cookies + per-tab URL/localStorage/ sessionStorage to <stateDir>/session-state.json (0600) on a 30s unref'd interval and at clean shutdown, and restores on the next launch — killing the top-complained auth-lost-on-restart class (#778, #2193, #1128, #1129). Security invariants mirror state save|load: loadedHtml and owner are never persisted and never accepted from disk; restored cookies pass the same hygiene filter (localhost/.internal/metadata domains dropped); restoreState re-validates every URL. Default OFF; headed mode excluded (the persistent profile owns that state). Hardened past the fork's shape per review R3: corrupt state quarantines to .corrupt (forensic artifact, boots fresh, one log line), snapshot failures warn once and never kill the daemon, and the boot log reports restored counts or fresh-session status. Module + 10 tests ported (MIT header retained); server wiring at launch, interval, and shutdown; skill docs section added (regen rides the cluster regen commit). Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: regenerate browse SKILL.md for cluster C (session persistence docs) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(skills): third-party web-actions contract — offer to drive vendor-site steps, never just dump a manual list When a workflow needs something done on an external website the user controls (register an API key, create a vendor account, configure a dashboard/webhook/OAuth app), five skills (ship, spec, office-hours, setup-deploy, land-and-deploy) now follow one contract: offer to drive it in a visible browser via gstack's own stack ($B headed + handoff/resume, GStack Browser) behind ONE per-task consent question naming the exact site and actions; passwords, payment, CAPTCHA, and identity stay user-performed; captured secrets go to owner-only files or the user's secret store, never chat/logs/history; and the credential is verified with one non-mutating API call before any success claim — dashboards show masked placeholders, and a 401 catches them. Declining yields manual steps and a blocked-on-user mark; nothing new is ever installed to close the gap. New resolver token {{THIRD_PARTY_ACTIONS}} (adapted from the fork's contract — their Aside-browser detection swapped for our own driver stack; MIT portions noted). Parity guards bumped with growth itemized (ship 1.10->1.12 at measured 1.103x; office-hours skeleton 101K / 1.09 at measured 1.079x); ship goldens refreshed. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2), driver adaptation ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(office-hours): design docs land in the repo, written as decision records (#703, #2000) Office-hours Phase 5 now dual-writes the design doc: the docs/designs/ copy is what teammates and plan reviews read (committable, visible), while the ~/.gstack copy keeps memory ingest and cross-session discovery working. The repo copy leaves the private store, so it passes the redaction scan-at-sink first (HIGH blocks the repo copy, MEDIUM confirms per finding), and any failure — read-only checkout, non-git dir, unconfirmed finding — degrades to the private copy with a one-line reason, never blocking the handoff. The doc itself is now a decision record, not a transcript: one bullet per decision with its why, ruled-out approaches collapsed to a single line with the rejection reason, settled/empty template sections omitted. No page cap; extra length must come from genuinely open questions. Plan reviews (ceo/eng/devex + the shared review resolver) prefer the repo-local doc (DESIGN.md, then newest docs/designs/*.md) when it's at least as fresh as the private copy — a stale old repo doc never shadows a newer session. Parity guards bumped with measured values (three plan-review skeletons +~0.7KB each; office-hours 1.092x). Judgment ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2); scan-at-sink and freshness-preference adaptations ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(office-hours): 'never show me these again' for the founder-resources pitch (#538) The Phase 6 resources offer (34 PG essays + Garry/YC videos) had no permanent decline — the reporter showed memory instructions kept being overridden on every update, so people who said no got re-pitched forever. The offer now closes with a standing choice; opting out runs gstack-config set founder_resources false (new key, default true, true|false validated), the write is VERIFIED before any promise (a failed write says so and skips this session only), and every future session skips the entire section silently — no resources, no 'skipped as requested' mention. Config outlives session context, so never means never. Re-enable anytime: gstack-config set founder_resources true. The pitch stays default-ON for everyone who never opted out. Tests pin the key's default/persistence/validation through the real config bin and the generated section's gate-before-content + write-verify contract. Approved as a promo-surface change (CEO review D3.4, 2026-08-14). Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(ship): the Apple App Store release journey — working tree to Submit for Review Point /ship at a repo with an .xcodeproj, .xcworkspace, or app-product Swift package and ask to release: the adapter runs the whole journey with ONE authorization moment (membership + pricing + in-session sign-in, decision- store persisted so repeat releases ask nothing) and one store-assets question only when assets are missing. fastlane is the single tool (produce/cert/ sigh/gym/pilot/deliver/frameit); credential vocabulary never reaches the user. The adapter carries 21 live releases' worth of paid-for Apple knowledge: the web session mints the permanent upload key itself (iris POST /v1/apiKeys; privateKey is base64-of-PEM, downloadable only at creation) so nobody ever types an app-specific password; error -22938 is Transporter asking for a key, not a user task; errors are CLASSIFIED before credentials are touched (validation/UnexpectedResponse = metadata, incl. Apple's expanded age-rating attributes); pricing goes through POST /v1/appPriceSchedules because fastlane's price_tier is broken against the current API; and store distribution NEVER routes through the branch gate — a clean tree on main is the solo shipper's normal case (Step 0.9 loads the adapter BEFORE the gate, pinned by test with the non-Apple gate byte-unchanged and unique). Uploads/submissions follow an idempotency-log contract (inspect App Store Connect before any re-run). Non-Mac hosts get the honest split: build legs via a macOS CI runner with the minted key as a secret, API legs local. Browser use inside the journey is banned except the named paid-app banking/tax residue. Redaction dry-run clean. Ship's parity ratio raised 1.12 -> 1.22 deliberately: the 14.8KB section is on-demand (Apple store targets only), one manifest line otherwise. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2), refined across its 21 live releases; architecture adaptation (carved section, decision-store paths, idempotency log, third-party-actions handoff) ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(code-intelligence): provider contract Phase 1 — GBrain, Sourcebot, Graphify behind one ask-once offer Open a large repo (1,000+ tracked files) and gstack can offer code intelligence ONCE, with the trade-offs stated: GBrain (semantic memory + code, sends content to YOUR gbrain DB, per-repo consent), Sourcebot (self-hosted whole-repo search, local on localhost), Graphify (local tree-sitter graph, nothing leaves the machine, user-installed), or No indexing — a decline persists machine-wide so no skill ever asks again. Small repos never see the question; grep stays the always-working default and provider-OFF degrades silently (PROVIDER_UNAVAILABLE -> file-only). Ported: lib/code-intelligence/ (contract + 3 verified adapters + picker + selection + suggest, MIT headers), the gstack-code-intelligence CLI (suggest/select/consent/index/search/status), 31 offline tests (fake CLI shims + injected fetch), and the provider-contract design doc. Verified live on this repo: suggest fires at 1,233 files with real availability detail per provider. Hardened per review: the per-remote trust store is the SINGLE consent authority — a gstack-gbrain-repo-policy deny tier vetoes any recorded code-intelligence consent (fail-closed on an unreadable store, pinned by three tests); both send-capable adapters are registered as fail-closed MODULE_SINKS in the egress tripwire so a refactor can't drop their receipts; and local-compute vs remote-send consents are never bundled. setup-gbrain gains the provider-choice Step 0. The fork's Phases 2-4 glue-collapse is explicitly NOT ported. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2); consent unification ours. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(ci): supply-chain hygiene — secret gate on every PR diff, dependency review, OSV, dependabot, evidence-bar PR template The repo owned a redaction engine and had zero CI-side secret scanning. quality-gate.yml now pipes every PR diff's ADDED lines through our own bin/gstack-redact (gate-secret-scan.mjs, taken from the fork — it dogfoods the engine): HIGH findings fail the check, MEDIUM prints an advisory count only (no human in CI to confirm), planted-bug fixtures excluded by pathspec. Live-verified both directions: PEM key fails, clean diff and MEDIUM shapes pass; ShellCheck (errors) covers the setup/build shell boundary and passes today; bun audit gates critical advisories. Trigger is pull_request, never pull_request_target. dependency-review.yml adopts the hardened never-merged prior-art branch (fail-on-severity high, workflow paths watched, tight perms) — verify the dependency graph parses bun.lock with a canary bump before trusting the gate. dependabot: weekly, grouped per ecosystem, capped PR counts; and evals.yml image build/push now skips dependabot actors, whose read-only GITHUB_TOKEN made every lockfile bump a permanently red check. OSV scans weekly with a reasoned ignore file. All new workflow actions SHA-pinned. Scorecard deliberately not taken (no consumer for the score). The PR template front-loads the evidence bar (live proof, liveness screenshot, no-ETHOS/voice-changes checklist); the unenforced DCO line is dropped. bin/gstack-verify-gate ships OPT-IN (never registered by ./setup — a Stop hook running the project's verify command after every turn is the user's call), with the fork's tests adapted to pin exactly that. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2) + our own prior-art branch. Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: remove dead bins; extend the stale-ref scan to docs (the 36-release gap) bin/chrome-cdp, bin/gstack-open-url, and bin/gstack-platform-detect were referenced only by an audit test and CHANGELOG history — dead weight that the stale-ref scanner should police, which required removing them FIRST. The scanner now also sweeps docs/, README.md, and USING_GBRAIN_WITH_GSTACK — the deliberate exclusion that let a dead command survive ~36 releases as a command-not-found instruction. Scan is green on the extended surface. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(bins): detect the default branch instead of hardcoding main gstack-diff-scope fell to an empty diff (all-false SCOPE_*) and gstack-next-version mis-based its bump math on any repo whose default branch isn't main (trunk, master, local-only). Both now resolve origin/HEAD -> origin/main -> origin/master -> main. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: housekeeping sweep — telemetry integrity, persistent opt-out, context-bill accuracy, setup hang, dev-server discovery, model resolution (#2136 + v1.63 polish) Seven small fixes, one theme (claims matching code): - telemetry-sync strips local-only fields with jq del() (structural) instead of quote-fragile sed regexes; unparseable lines are dropped, never forwarded unstripped. Sed survives only as a jq-less fallback. - telemetry-log rejects non-integer durations BEFORE the range caps, whose test(1) comparisons silently no-op on non-numerics — a malformed duration spliced raw text into the JSONL stream. - browse's local telemetry honors the persistent tier (config.yaml telemetry: off), not just the preamble's env hint — direct $B use and embedders now respect the opt-out. - gstack-context-bill --exact sees GSTACK_-promoted keys inside Conductor (conductor-env-shim wired at the CLI entry), and the TOTAL line no longer double-counts every nested skill through the root skill's walk (v1.63 deferred polish; the telemetry-sync HTTP-status outcome deferred alongside it turned out already shipped). - setup's Chromium probe is deadline-bounded (90s, background + poll-kill — macOS has no GNU timeout) and prefers Node for the launch probe everywhere (the bun --eval hang family behind #2136); the install is single-flight behind a lock dir with an actionable stale-lock message. Probe verified live on this Mac. - the review resolver's dev-server check reads CLAUDE.md and the plan file before falling back to an expanded port probe, and says how to make itself smarter next time. - eval/harness model IDs resolve through lib/eval-model.ts (GSTACK_EVAL_MODEL[_KIND] env overrides, per-kind defaults, tested) at the SDK-capture and PTY-warmup sites; the bash-embedded distill snippet mirrors the resolution inline. - memory-ingest's silent-zero shape (staged>0, imported+unchanged==0, errors==0) warns even under --quiet — a run that indexes nothing must never look healthy again. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test: wire ios-qa/daemon/test into the free suite and shard runner (E2) The daemon's 5 test files (allowlist, audit, auth-mint, cli-mint, daemon-integration — now 6 with session hardening) were invisible to every runner: not in the bun test glob, not in TEST_ROOTS. The same silent-coverage-hole class as the tracked design/test P2 — and it meant B2's auth regression tests would never have gated. All files are hermetic (stub state-servers on ephemeral ports, no devices); verified green in the shard census. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(skills): claimed limitations now require evidence, everywhere + wave follow-ups filed Every tier-2+ skill's preamble gains one directive distilled from nine live release failures in two days on the fork: a claimed limitation or requirement ('the API can't do this', 'X requires a credential', 'impossible on this platform') is a material claim, stated only with the verbatim error, the documented statement, or a live probe in hand — pattern-matching a failure to a familiar story is not evidence, and a cheap probe runs BEFORE asking the user or declaring a step blocked. ONE directive adapted into the preamble resolver; the fork's full judgment contract is deliberately not imported. Full regen (46 files), ship goldens refreshed, parity guards bumped with the measured ~0.45KB/skill (investigate, autoplan, plan-design-review, office-hours), Step 0.9 registered as an intentional sub-step. Approved deferrals filed: persona-fleet hostile-user harness + answer-key methodology in TODOS; the fork's question-budget ACCOUNTING judgment (never its 5/8/12 constants) folded into the V1.1 pacing design doc; the Apple adapter added to #1882's coverage note. Ported from time-attack/gstack (GStack 2). Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(make-pdf): close offline-gate bypasses via unquoted style attrs, CSS-escape and HTML-entity obfuscation Three live vectors found by the ship review army, all red-first tested: unquoted style attributes skipped the remote-url neutralizer entirely; CSS ident/string escapes (@\69mport, url(\68ttps://…)) defeated the literal-match patterns Chromium happily decodes; and HTML entities in style attribute values (https) decoded to fetchable schemes before CSS parsing. Style-attr values are now entity-decoded in one browser- faithful pass, escape-bearing at-rules and function tokens are dropped fail-closed, and output is re-encoded double-quoted. 21 new test rows. * fix(migrations): v1.65 Chromium re-fetch actually re-downloads, and success is verified before .done The migration (renamed from the provisional v1.64.0.0 slot, which open PR #2564 claims) deleted only the poisoned .app while Playwright's INSTALLATION_COMPLETE marker survived in the revision dir — so the advertised 'bunx playwright install chromium' re-fetch no-opped and the user finished the upgrade with no browser and a success message. Now: the whole chromium-<rev> dir goes, bunx runs cwd-pinned to the install root, .done is gated on a verified executable, and a needs-refetch sentinel makes re-runs retry a failed download. Stranded rev dirs (markers without .app) also re-trigger. 6 hermetic tests, red-first. * fix(migrations): v1.27 remediation prints a real command instead of a fictional flag Every skip/failure path referenced '/setup-gbrain --rerun-migration', which is implemented nowhere, and promised the migration 'will ask again next upgrade', which the version-window runners make false. All five sites now print the direct GSTACK_MIGRATE_ASSUME_YES=1 bash invocation. Runner-side re-offer tracking is filed in TODOS. * fix(browse): poisoned-bundle self-heal removes the revision dir, probes handoff too, and throws typed Same marker flaw as the migration: rmSync of the .app alone left INSTALLATION_COMPLETE behind, so the error message's own remediation no-opped and the user was hard-stuck. The probe is now an exported, unit-tested helper (probePoisonedChromiumBundle) that removes the whole chromium-<rev> dir, never touches GSTACK_CHROMIUM_PATH custom bundles, throws PoisonedBundleError (instanceof, not string-match), and runs on BOTH headed entry points — launchHeaded and handoff. 7 tests. * fix(browse): session snapshots are atomic and the cookie filter drops loopback IP literals A crash mid-write destroyed the previous good snapshot — the exact scenario persistence exists to survive; writes now go tmp+rename. The internal-network cookie filter gains 127.*/::1/169.254.* (a tampered state file could previously hand loopback-service cookies back to the browser), and 'state load' imports the shared filter instead of maintaining a comment-synced copy. Test cleanup made exception-safe. * fix(browse): server runtime — restore off the boot path, shutdown that cannot hang, watchdog that still reaps tunnels Four review findings on the wave's own new wiring: session restore ran before Bun.serve with sequential 15s gotos while the CLI gives up at 8s (one slow saved URL bricked every $B command) — restore now runs in the background after bind; the shutdown snapshot gets a 2s deadline so a wedged page.evaluate can't hold the port forever behind the new ack-first stop; the persistence ticker gets in-flight + shutdown gates and is cleared before the final snapshot; and the absorbed #2565 handoff fix no longer clears the whole parent watchdog — a suppress flag keeps the tunnel-orphan reaper alive (handoff→resume→tunnel is no longer an unreapable internet-exposed daemon). pair-agent with consent off now names the real remedy instead of ngrok install instructions. Lock-acquisition edge branches (garbage pidfile, vanish-race depth cap) pinned. * fix(browse): telemetry defaults to off like every other surface The persistent tier defaulted ON when the config key was absent, while gstack-config's DEFAULTS table answers 'off' for the same question — preamble-spawned daemons and direct $B daemons disagreed about consent. Absent key/file now means disabled; community/anonymous enable; env kill-switch still beats everything. Both config.yaml consumers now share one readGstackConfigYamlKey reader. 12-case consent suite. * fix(code-intelligence): consent that means what it says — polarity, receipts, read-only veto Four review findings on the wave's own Phase 1 port, all red-first: 'consent <repo> no' recorded consent GRANTED (the CLI ignored the argument and always wrote true) — yes|no is now required and garbage records nothing; Sourcebot egress receipts claimed consented=true on paths that never checked consent — the actual consent state is threaded into every receipt, search is fail-closed on non-loopback, and the liveness probe's receipt says truthfully that it sends no repo content; repoPolicyVeto only honored the deny tier while gbrain refresh writes pages — write-class ops now veto on read-only too, matching the sync chokepoint, via one shared lib/gbrain-repo-policy-client.ts (win32 bash invocation, spawn-vs-unreadable error distinction) used by both call sites. Also: source ids get a host+path hash (same-name repos no longer collide), refresh timeout raised to 120s, availability probes run concurrently at 3s, graphify status stops JSON.parsing 100MB graphs for a count, and every ported file carries the fork MIT notice. +15 tests across the two suites. * fix(verify-gate): trust before eval, re-check on re-entry, audit every grant The opt-in Stop hook eval'd whatever command the first CLAUDE.md up the tree declared — any cloned repo got arbitrary shell at turn end. Now a per-repo trust store (path+command hash, 0600) gates execution: an untrusted or changed command never runs (exit 0 with the --trust invocation printed), stop_hook_active re-entry re-runs the trusted check instead of rubber-stamping (bounded at 3 blocks per episode), and every grant appends a forensic line to ~/.gstack/security/verify-gate-trust-grants.jsonl. 20 tests, red-first. * fix(setup): EXIT traps chain instead of clobbering; timed-out probes reap their whole tree The Playwright-lock trap replaced the copied-bun cleanup trap and then cleared ALL exit handling, leaking .tmp-bun-bin on every Chromium install; and _wait_with_deadline killed only the subshell, orphaning the wedged node→Chromium tree it exists to escape — re-creating the #2136 pile-up on every timed-out re-run. Traps now chain; timeouts walk pgrep -P descendants leaves-first. * refactor(resolvers): one source for the design-doc discovery block The #703 repo-doc-preference bash was pasted byte-identically into three plan-review templates and a fourth copy embedded in review.ts — drift there means plan reviews disagree about which design doc wins. Now a {{DESIGN_DOC_DISCOVERY}} resolver; generated output is byte-identical, so no SKILL.md changes ride along. * fix(ship): finish the Apple upload idempotency sentence The durable-effect contract dropped its consequence clause mid-sentence — the instruction for what to DO when the idempotency key already exists (treat the upload as possibly-done, never re-run it) was missing from the one rule governing whether a binary uploads twice. * fix(ci): SHA-pin dependency-review; the secret gate fails closed without a report dependency-review.yml rode mutable refs (@v4 resolves to a BRANCH on that repo) inside the one workflow whose job is supply-chain hygiene — now commit-pinned like its siblings, with dependabot keeping the pins fresh. gate-secret-scan.mjs crashed with an unhandled EPIPE on oversize diffs (the designed report.oversize branch was unreachable: the scanner emits no JSON on refusal) — the pipe write now tolerates early exit and a missing report is an explicit fail-closed exit 1. Oversize + broken-scanner legs pinned. * fix(bins): Windows-safe GIT_CEILING join; next-version probes the full default-base chain GIT_CEILING_DIRECTORIES was joined with ':' — git on Windows splits on ';' and drive letters contain ':', silently disabling the #2144 second-layer defense there; now path.delimiter. next-version's default-base detection only tried origin/HEAD then 'main', diverging from the canonical 4-step chain diff-scope uses — origin/main and origin/master probes added, pinned by fixture repos. * fix(eval-model): kinds are a literal union, not string Record<string, string> widened EvalModelKind to string, so a typo'd kind only failed at runtime; as const satisfies keeps the closed set the doc comment promises. * test: coverage backfill from the ship review The telemetry-strip invariant only validated the sed FALLBACK while the live jq path went unchecked — the jq del() lists are now held to the same every-emitted-field bar, plus a behavioral pipe-through. The context-bill nested-skill double-count fix gets a regression pin (a revert shipped green before). The windowsHide tripwire gains terminal-agent-control.ts — the exact file the fix commit names. The ios-qa revoke-by-token_id branch gets its negative case: unknown ids revoke nothing and leave live sessions alone. * docs: SLATE_HOST no longer cites the deleted platform-detect bin Host detection lives in the hosts/ registry via host-config-export.ts; the doc's known-gaps list now says so instead of pointing at a bin this branch removed. * test(e2e): headroom for the two plan-ceo-review budget-edge tests Both rode their 360s runner budget at the edge (main clears at 243s of 360s), and the wave legitimately adds work to the review: the evidence directive tells the agent to probe before claiming, and the design-doc discovery block adds bash steps. Under concurrent in-file children the API queuing tipped all retry attempts past the ceiling — the runner then reports $0.00/0 turns for a timed-out child, which reads like a dead spawn but is a healthy child killed at the deadline. 540s runner / 660s test for these two only; verified 2/2 green at 228s and 315s. * fix(code-intelligence): gbrain search/export are consent-gated and receipted The Sourcebot side got this in the last round; gbrain had the same hole — search() and export() sent repo-derived query text into a possibly-remote DATABASE_URL with no consent check and no egress receipt, bypassing the deny-tier veto. Both now assert consent before any bytes move, receipts record the actual consent state (never a hardcoded true), and search receipts carry the query's sha256. gbrain stays fail-closed: the adapter cannot see where DATABASE_URL points, so every send requires consent. 7 new tests, red-first. * fix(make-pdf): SVG remote refs and image-set can no longer fetch offline <svg><image href=https://…> and <use xlink:href=…> survived the gate (only javascript: schemes were stripped from svg hrefs), and bare-string image-set("https://…" 1x) dodged the url()-shaped neutralizer. Remote svg hrefs rewrite to '#' (entity-decode-aware, unclosed-svg smuggle closed) and remote image-set args neutralize to url(#). Local fragments, local image-set, and plain <a> links pinned intact. 12 new rows, red-first. * fix(browse): duplicate config keys read last-wins, matching gstack-config readGstackConfigYamlKey took the FIRST match while gstack-config's get takes the LAST — a duplicated pair_agent or telemetry line made the two consent surfaces disagree about what the user chose. * fix(setup): stale Chromium-install lock self-heals The mkdir mutex had no owner: a SIGKILL'd setup left the lock behind and every later run exited with manual rmdir instructions. The holder pid is recorded in the lock; a dead holder is reclaimed automatically. * fix(setup-gbrain): the code-intelligence offer gate skips when the bin is absent The new Step 1.7 told the agent to run gstack-code-intelligence before the path pick — on installs predating the CLI (and hermetic E2E children) the bin doesn't exist and setup derailed before doing any setup. The gate now probes for the bin and reports offer:false reason:bin-absent, with explicit instructions to proceed: the user asked for gbrain, so set up gbrain. Never block setup on an optional gate. * test(e2e): periodic-tier repairs from the failure triage Each fix traces to a receipt: brain-privacy-gate staged config never reached the hermetic child (ambient GSTACK_HOME is scrubbed) and the operator's remote-mode gbrain suppressed the gate — both now injected per-test; ship-idempotency threw away its evidence on the timeout path and ran a 600s budget its own subject can exceed (now 900s, evidence captured); auto-decide-preserved gets the same headroom its sibling plan-ceo tests got; context-skills' hides-checks scanned bash output where an ls legitimately names old checkpoints (final-text scope now); design names the missing section instead of a bare count and learns the easing/duration/micro-interaction synonyms; qa-workflow's collector afterAll gets an explicit 60s hook timeout. * fix(eval-harness): eng-review phase boundary fires on qid-tagged questions The Step 0 boundary only matched two prose phrases, but plan-eng-review may legitimately reach the review phase without either — every per-finding AskUserQuestion then counted as pre-review and the batching regression test read 0 questions while watching the agent ask them one by one. The boundary now also fires on the first answered question carrying a gstack-qid:eng-review- marker. Additive only; 119 runner unit tests green. * chore: bump version and changelog (v1.65.0.0) Fork port wave 2: the release-summary entry credits Sina Matian (time-attack/gstack) and the four absorbed community PRs. TODOS gains three review-round follow-ups (dual-write E2E, migration runner re-offer, gbrain-adapter op coverage). Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(eval-harness): eng-review qid boundary matches the real skill-name prefix Live qids render as gstack-qid:plan-eng-review-<slug> ({skill}-{slug} convention); the boundary anchored eng-review- immediately after the colon and never matched, leaving the batching counter blind while the transcript showed per-finding questions being asked one by one. * fix(setup-gbrain): never ask the provider question inside /setup-gbrain Invoking /setup-gbrain IS the provider choice. Step 1.7 now records 'select gbrain' best-effort and proceeds straight to setup; the offer ceremony is reserved for entry points where no provider was named. On machines where the code-intelligence CLI exists, the offer:true path was hijacking setup into the provider ceremony and the E2E child never reached MCP registration. * chore: file the three documented-red periodic tests as structural-repair TODOs Sidebar trio exercises endpoints removed on every tree; ship-idempotency's PTY child never receives its typed command; brain-privacy-gate has never been green anywhere. Each carries its triage receipt in the entry. * test(e2e): setup-gbrain remote — hermetic env via opts, evidence on failure, output-scoped classifier Three separate defects stacked on this one test: the ambient GBRAIN_MCP_TOKEN/GSTACK_HOME/PATH mutations never reached the child (hermetic-env scrubs them by allowlist — broken since hermetic env landed; the child correctly stopped at Step 4c with NEEDS_CONTEXT), failures discarded the in-memory transcript so every triage started blind, and the wrote-findings-before-asking classifier scanned the full event stream where the child's own Read of the skill file always contains the review-report phrase. Env now goes via opts.env, failures dump bash commands + final text, and the classifier scans assistant output only. Green in 67s with all seven asserts. * test: final coverage pass — CLI rendering, revert traps, keychain probe, gbrain doc ops The user-directed third generation pass closes the audit's remaining tail: the code-intelligence CLI's options/status/suggest surfaces get behavioral coverage through the fake-shim chain; brain-context-load gains an argv-logging trap that goes red if anyone reverts the memoized PATH scan back to the spawn probe (receipt: simulated revert failed exactly these tests); the darwin Keychain auth branch (#1890) gets its first free-tier tests via a PATH-shimmed security binary; and the gbrain add/delete/export ops are pinned (body piped byte-for-byte, receipt sha256, stdin-EOF prompt guard, PROVIDER_UNAVAILABLE degradation) — retiring their TODOS entry. * test: assemble the planted PEM at runtime so the fixture never trips the prepush guard The repo's own credential guard scans pushed diffs and correctly blocked these fixtures: the engine flags any one-line BEGIN…END spelling regardless of body. Header, body, and footer are now joined at runtime, so the file and every diff of it stay clean while the scanner under test still receives the true live shape. * docs: update project documentation for v1.65.0.0 README gains the two wave-2 CLIs (gstack-code-intelligence, gstack-verify-gate) in the standalone-binaries table, BROWSER.md documents BROWSE_PERSIST_STATE next to manual state save/load, CONTRIBUTING's CI section lists the new supply-chain gates, and CLAUDE.md's project tree reflects lib/code-intelligence/ and the added workflows. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: apply cross-model doc-review fixes for v1.65.0.0 Findings from the release doc review, verified against source: verify-gate's README row gains the actual install one-liner (setup never registers the Stop hook; test/verify-gate.test.ts pins that) and the 3-blocked-re-entries yield behavior; code-intelligence's row gains the suggest subcommand and the search-side consent gate; CONTRIBUTING scopes the SHA-pin claim to the supply-chain workflows and widens the dependency-review trigger; BROWSER.md's restore-time cookie drop list matches isInternalCookieDomain; CLAUDE.md's workflows comment stops implying six workflows are all of them. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: CHANGELOG accuracy pass — scope the SHA-pin claim, restore-time cookie filter, exact test counts * test: env restore runs per-test, not per-suite — the leak that failed 30 strangers gstack-memory-helpers saved HOME/GSTACK_HOME/PATH in beforeEach but restored in afterAll, so the last beforeEach's snapshot won and a gstack-test-engine temp dir leaked into every later file in the same process: gstack-config read the wrong store, make-pdf's child resolved Chromium under the temp cache, update-check and artifacts-init lost their real homes. afterAll is now afterEach; the config and update-check harnesses also strip GSTACK_HOME/GSTACK_STATE_ROOT from child env as a belt. * fix(browse): restore the #1846 start-timeout resolution the merge dropped The v1.64.1.0 merge kept this branch's lock design in cli.ts and silently lost main's resolveStartTimeout + late health re-check while their test survived — ported both back in alongside the kept design. * test: adapt main's diagnostics tests to the merged designs cli-lock asserts typed ServerLockError (errno + lock path) instead of the log-and-return shape the merge didn't keep, dropping only the one duplicate of server-lock-errors coverage; the liveness tripwire exempts error-handling.ts as the sanctioned tasklist site; snapshot and compare-board wrappers pass the now-mandatory browser-manager arg; background.js's test pins that the retired sidebar-command type is rejected pre-gate with no response fields. * chore: gitignore the gen-accessors tool's SPM build output skill-e2e-ios-swift-build compiles the Swift package in place, leaving .build/ (2,800+ files) and Package.resolved untracked after every periodic run — the workspace read as ~100 dirty changes with a clean tree. Same class as the dist/ binaries: build output, never committed. * test(browse): subprocess budget for the polyfill suite on Windows CI Every test here spawnSync's a node child; cold-start on the Windows runner (AV scan, first node.exe touch) blew bun's 5s default by 7ms on a 50ms sleep test. File-level 20s default — subprocess budget, not assertion looseness. * test: make the Darwin migration path and the query-timeout SKIP deterministic on Linux CI The v1.65 migration suite relied on the host being macOS — on the ubicloud runner the script's uname gate early-exited every test with empty output; a Darwin uname shim in the shared setup runs the real path everywhere (the non-Darwin test still overrides it with Linux). The 1ms-budget brain-context test assumed 1ms is always too short; the runner's fake gbrain answered in 0ms and no SKIP printed — the fake now sleeps 300ms so the timeout is a certainty, while --version stays instant for the detection assertion. --------- Co-authored-by: Gawie van Blerk <gawievanblerk@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Sina Matian <sina@time-attack.dev> Co-authored-by: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Shawn Reddy <19191746+Screddyice@users.noreply.github.com> Co-authored-by: Jake Wilk <jwilk@highlinerepartners.com> Co-authored-by: Jerry Nichols <jerrynicholsai@users.noreply.github.com> |

v1.58.4.0 fix: high-priority community bug wave + PTY plan-mode smoke gate (#2077)
* fix(gbrain): stop forcing GBRAIN_PREPARE on transaction-mode poolers (#1965) buildGbrainEnv auto-set GBRAIN_PREPARE=true whenever DATABASE_URL targeted port 6543, and the /sync-gbrain capability check exported it for the rest of the skill run. Both had the semantics inverted: gbrain auto-disables prepared statements on transaction-mode poolers because they break every write there ("prepared statement does not exist"); GBRAIN_PREPARE=true is gbrain's documented override for SESSION-mode poolers on 6543, not a requirement for transaction mode. The #1435 search symptom the auto-set worked around was fixed gbrain-side. Remove both force-sets. A caller-set GBRAIN_PREPARE (either value) still passes through untouched, preserving the session-mode-on-6543 escape hatch. isTransactionModePooler stays exported. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(gbrain): classify probe timeout as its own status; sync proceeds instead of skipping (#1964) The 5s engine probe misclassified healthy-but-slow engines (cold Supabase pooler connections measured at 6.9-10.7s) as broken-config, so /sync-gbrain silently skipped code+memory and told the user their config was malformed. - New "timeout" status: probe killed at the deadline with no recognized stderr pattern. Default deadline is now 15s, overridable via GSTACK_GBRAIN_PROBE_TIMEOUT_MS (tests set 300ms against a fake that sleeps 2s). - Sync stages PROCEED on timeout with a stderr warning naming the env knob; a genuinely-dead engine surfaces its real error at the first operation instead of a false config diagnosis. - Consistency everywhere "ok" gated behavior: gstack-gbrain-detect --is-ok exits 0 on timeout, and gen-skill-docs' detection gate accepts it, so a slow engine no longer silently suppresses brain-aware features. - Status cache: key now includes the effective probe timeout (raising it invalidates a cached timeout) and GBRAIN_HOME; config detection honors GBRAIN_HOME so relocated-home users stop being misclassified as missing-config. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(bins): cygpath-normalize SCRIPT_DIR for bun imports; surface learnings-log errors (#1950) Under Windows git-bash, pwd yields a POSIX path (/c/Users/...) that Bun on Windows cannot resolve as an ES module specifier. gstack-learnings-log interpolates SCRIPT_DIR into a bun -e import, so every invocation died with "Cannot find module" — and 2>/dev/null swallowed the error, silently dropping every AI-logged learning for Windows users. - 3-line cygpath -m guard in gstack-learnings-log and gstack-question-log (which gains the same import shape in the next commit). Matches the duplicated IS_WINDOWS convention in setup; no shared shell lib exists. - learnings-log adopts question-log's set +e / TMPERR capture pattern wholesale: validation errors now print to stderr. The old `if [ $? -ne 0 ]` check was dead code under set -euo pipefail — the script exited at the failing assignment before reaching it. - New test/bin-windows-bun-import-paths.test.ts: static invariant (any bash bin interpolating $SCRIPT_DIR into a bun -e import must carry the guard) + behavioral end-to-end run invoked via `bash <bin>` — added to the windows-free-tests workflow list so the conversion is proven on the only platform where the bug exists. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(question-log): dedupe INJECTION_PATTERNS via lib/jsonl-store (#1934) bin/gstack-question-log carried a local copy of the injection-pattern list, so pattern fixes to lib/jsonl-store.ts never propagated — including the /override[:\s]/i false-positive fix arriving via community PR #1940. Import the shared hasInjection instead (enabled by the previous commit's cygpath guard). question-log also gets the lib's stricter superset (human:, disregard, from-now-on, approve-all patterns). Tests pin the contract in a #1940-order-independent way: an "Override: ignore all previous instructions" header is rejected, "prose overrides the deterministic table" is accepted, and a static invariant keeps local INJECTION_PATTERNS duplicates out of the bin. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(security): community-pulse + both dashboards never report fake zeros (#1947) The security-signaling surface failed open at three layers — every failure mode read as a reassuring "0 attacks" / "0 installs": - community-pulse edge function: supabase-js returns {data, error} without throwing, and all five queries discarded `error` — a DB outage produced real-looking zeros via the SUCCESS path, and the catch (also returning zeros with HTTP 200) was unreachable for query failures. Every query now destructures and throws; the catch serves the stale cache (marked "stale": true) when one exists, else 503 {"error":"pulse_unavailable"}. Success responses carry "status":"ok" so clients can distinguish authoritative data from legacy backends. NOTE: the edge function deploys out-of-band (supabase functions deploy community-pulse). - gstack-security-dashboard: captures the HTTP status; non-200 / network failure / error body / missing section → "unknown — backend error"; jq missing → "unknown — install jq" (the lossy grep fallback broke on nested arrays and under-reported attacks as zero — removed); a 200 without the new marker shows figures with an "unverified (legacy backend)" note. Also fixes a latent display bug: the TOTAL grep matched the digit 7 inside "attacks_last_7_days" and misreported every count. - gstack-community-dashboard: same class — curl || echo "{}" plus grep || echo "0" printed "Weekly active installs: 0" on any failure. Now "unknown — backend error (HTTP N)". test/security-dashboard-fallback.test.ts pins the matrix (200+marker, 200-legacy, 503, network failure) x (jq present, jq absent) for both bins: "unknown" states never render as 0. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(telemetry): redact error_message spans before they leave the machine (#1947) error_message was uploaded with only quote/newline escaping — stack traces and failed-API errors can embed credentials, private paths, and hostnames, and the sync path strips only _repo_slug/_branch. New lib/redact-engine.ts export redactFindingSpans(): replaces EVERY finding's span with <REDACTED-{id}> regardless of tier (applyRedactions is the interactive PII-only path and exits nonzero on credential findings, so it can't serve machine egress). Returns null when a span can't be located — callers drop the whole payload rather than risk a leak. gstack-telemetry-log pipes error_message through it at LOG time, so the local JSONL at rest is clean too; surrounding text survives for crash triage. FAIL CLOSED: bun missing, engine error, or non-JSON-string output all null the field. Tests pin: embedded ghp_ token → <REDACTED-github.pat> with context intact; redactor unavailable → null; raw bytes on disk never contain the token. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(redact): prepush guard fails closed on git failure; /ship owns hook install (#1946) Two gaps closed: 1. Fail closed. The git() helper returned "" on ANY non-zero exit or maxBuffer overflow (status null), addedLinesFor produced an empty string, and the push sailed through unscanned — fail-open on exactly the oversized-diff case where a large secret-bearing blob is most likely. The diff call now uses a strict variant that throws; main blocks with a clear message naming the GSTACK_REDACT_PREPUSH=skip escape valve. Probe calls (symbolic-ref, rev-parse, merge-base) keep the permissive helper — their failures are normal control flow. 2. Install path. The hook was installed by nothing ("opt-in, installed by nothing" was the issue's words). ./setup runs in the gstack checkout — the wrong repo for a per-project hook — so it gets a one-line hint only. /ship owns per-repo install: config redact_prepush_hook=true + hook missing → silent install (consent already given); config unset + no ~/.gstack/.redact-prepush-prompted marker → one-time machine-wide AskUserQuestion offer, answer persisted. ship/SKILL.md regenerated in this same commit (check-freshness bisect discipline). Tests: unscannable diff (bogus SHAs) → exit 1 + valve named; empty-but- successful diff → exit 0; static asserts pin setup as hint-only and the ship template as the installer surface. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(redact): six new credential patterns — GitLab, HuggingFace, npm, DigitalOcean, Bearer, GCP SA (#1946) Coverage gaps from the #1946 security review, including token types for tooling gstack itself drives (glab): HIGH (block): gitlab.token (glpat-/glptt-/gldt-), huggingface.token (hf_), npm.token (npm_), digitalocean.token (dop_v1_), gcp.service_account (the JSON-escaped "private_key" form that dodges pem.private_key's literal-block match when minified, confirmed by "private_key_id" proximity). MEDIUM (warn): auth.bearer — the most FP-prone shape in the set (docs are full of "Authorization: Bearer <token>"), so it requires header-context proximity and the same entropy>=3.0 + placeholder validator recipe as env.kv. "Bearer YOUR_TOKEN_HERE" never fires; calibration over coverage, per the cries-wolf principle. All shapes are linear-time; test/redact-pattern-lint.test.ts covers them automatically. Engine tests add positive + placeholder-negative cases per pattern. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test: coverage-audit additions for the fix wave Ship Step 7 gap-fill (all passing, 248 tests across the touched suites): memory + dream stage probe-timeout proceeds, gbrain-detect override paths, stale-flag passthrough, 200-body-missing-.security fail-closed case, telemetry redaction edges, and credential-pattern edge cases. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: pre-landing review fixes Review army findings (1 critical, auto-fixed with regression tests): - CRITICAL (security specialist, verified live): redactFindingSpans spliced only the regex capture span, and pem.private_key / gcp.service_account capture just the BEGIN-header — the key body survived "redaction" and shipped via telemetry. Marker-only patterns now drop the whole payload (null, fail closed). Overlapping spans (Bearer+JWT on the same bytes) are coalesced before splicing so stale offsets can't leave partial secret bytes behind. - gitStrict: drop the dead `|| r.status === null` disjunct (null !== 0 already covers it); add the signal-kill/null-status regression test the docstring promised. - security-dashboard human mode flags stale snapshots ("figures may be out of date") instead of presenting frozen counts as current. - community-dashboard marker check uses jq when available — the grep-only variant misclassified whitespaced/reserialized bodies as legacy. - telemetry fail-closed test now shadows bun with a failing stub (deterministic on any host layout); stale "five status cases" describe title renamed. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: adversarial review fixes (Claude + Codex cross-model passes) Both adversarial passes ran against the wave; every FIXABLE finding landed with a regression test: - probeTimeoutMs clamps to >=1ms: a fractional override floored to 0, and execFileSync treats timeout:0 as NO timeout — the probe that exists to bound hangs could hang forever (found by both models independently). - /ship silent hook install now requires the hooks dir to live inside .git: with core.hooksPath (husky's COMMITTED .husky/), the chaining installer would have renamed the team's committed pre-push and written a machine-local wrapper into the working tree (found by both models). - gstack-config gbrain-refresh accepts the "timeout" status — the last consumer still gating on literal "ok" (Codex); gstack-gbrain-detect's config-derived fields honor GBRAIN_HOME so the detection JSON can't report status ok alongside config_exists false (Codex). - prepush: a remote sha absent locally (shallow clone / stale fetch) falls back to the merge-base/empty-tree range — scans MORE, never blocks a legitimate push into training users toward --no-verify. - dashboards: curl's own 000 no longer doubles to "HTTP 000000"; the community dashboard flags stale snapshots like the security one; array sections parse via jq (the sed/grep loops truncated at the first ']'); the no-jq marker grep tolerates whitespace. - telemetry: multi-line redactor output nulls the field instead of corrupting the JSONL record; setup's hint fires only when the config key is genuinely unset (an explicit false is a recorded decline); the /ship prompt marker honors GSTACK_HOME. Kept as designed (cross-model tension noted): Bearer stays MEDIUM in the prepush gate — a HIGH Bearer would block every docs example; the entropy validator can't eliminate that FP class, and MEDIUM warns visibly. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * chore: bump version and changelog (v1.57.11.0) Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * docs: P1 TODO — eval harness live progress + incremental persistence Root-caused during this ship: a killed eval run was indistinguishable from a healthy one for hours (per-file output buffering across mega test files, no incremental eval-store writes, no honest liveness signal). Full context and starting points in the entry. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test: fix operational-learning E2E fixture — copy lib/jsonl-store.ts Pre-existing breakage, proven on main: gstack-learnings-log has imported lib/jsonl-store.ts (shared injection patterns) since v1.57.5.0 / #1910, but the fixture copies only the bin scripts — the bin exits 1 before writing anything, on main silently (stderr swallowed) and on this branch loudly (the #1950 error-surfacing made the four-day-old failure visible). A real install always ships bin/ and lib/ together; the fixture now does too. Verified: the fixture-shaped invocation writes the learning (exit 0) with lib present, exits 1 on both main and this branch without it. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(ios-qa): isolate E2E tests under --concurrent (3 real races) The ios-qa E2E file failed intermittently under `bun test --concurrent` (the eval harness default). Three distinct shared-state races, all fixed: 1. Shared pidfile: a module-level `workDir` reassigned in beforeEach was clobbered by parallel tests, so concurrent daemons collided on the same pidfile and the loser returned `already_running`. Each test now gets its own dir via makeWorkDir(). 2. process.env path globals: tests set GSTACK_IOS_AUDIT_PATH / _ATTEMPTS_PATH / _ALLOWLIST_PATH on the shared process env; concurrent tests stomped each other's audit/attempts destinations. Threaded auditPath/attemptsPath/allowlistPath through DaemonOptions (and mintForCaller) as explicit args — env is no longer load-bearing. 3. afterEach cleanup race: the per-test cleanup drained a shared dir array, so the first test to finish deleted still-running tests' workDirs mid-assertion. Moved to afterAll (cleans once, after all settle). Verified: 5/5 clean full-suite runs at --max-concurrency 15 (was intermittent); daemon unit suite 91/91; daemon source compiles. The paths default to the env-derived locations when options are omitted, so the production CLI path is unchanged. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(pty): pin spawned claude to EVALS model chain (default claude-sonnet-4-6) launchClaudePty spawned the interactive `claude` TUI with no --model flag, so the child inherited the operator's ~/.claude/settings.json model. On a slow-thinking model that meant 5+ min of extended thinking on empty plan-mode context, timing out the plan-mode smoke tests regardless of contention. Pin the model via opts.model ?? EVALS_MODEL ?? 'claude-sonnet-4-6' — byte-identical to session-runner.ts:144, so PTY and `claude -p` evals always agree. Pushed before extraArgs (last flag wins, so a per-test --model still overrides). Placement leaves the spawn region byte-stable for a clean merge with the in-flight hermetic-env branch. Plumbed model through the three plan-skill wrappers. Static-grep tripwires guard the pin, its fallback chain, the before-extraArgs ordering, and all three wrapper forwards. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(pty): detect markdown bold-bullet prose AUQs (fixes office-hours smoke) office-hours auto-mode renders its mode question as `- **Building a startup**` markdown bullets (office-hours/SKILL.md.tmpl:102) with no letter/number marker. isProseAUQVisible only matched `A)`-style lettered or `1.`-style numbered options, so the question went undetected: the model surfaced it at ~2m19s (well under the 300s budget) but the harness kept scoring the run "working" off the spinner glyphs and timed out — a false timeout on a question that was already on screen. Add Pattern 3: when an interrogative line ('?') is present AND 3+ bold-bullet markers (`- **`) appear in the 4KB tail, classify as a prose AUQ. Bold is the discriminator vs incidental prose bullets; the line anchor is dropped (stripAnsi can collapse option lines) and the existing `❯ 1.` cursor gate still defers to a live native list. Wires through the existing classifyVisible 'asked' path and the timeout high-water-mark, so office-hours now classifies 'asked' instead of 'timeout'. Five unit cases: the office-hours render passes; no-'?', <3-bullet, plain-bullet, and native-cursor cases stay false. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(pty): detect stripAnsi-collapsed prose AUQs + judge spinner-precedence The plan-eng/plan-design plan-mode + finding-floor smokes timed out even when the skill HAD rendered a complete prose AskUserQuestion and was waiting: the PTY strips cursor-positioning escapes, collapsing the option newlines/spaces so "A) ..." arrives as "A(recommended)" / "-B:" and "Reply with A, B, or C" as "ReplywithA,B,orC". Every line-anchored detector (Patterns 1-3) returns false on those bytes, so proseAUQEverObserved never latched and the run timed out on a question that was already on screen. Add Pattern 4/5: a two-signal collapsed-form detector — a reply/recommendation marker (space-insensitive "reply with [A-D]", "Recommendation:", or "(recommended)") AND 2+ distinct A-D letters each punctuated by ) : or (. The conjunction is what separates a real AUQ from incidental report prose; verified true on the verbatim failing-run buffers where Patterns 1-3 return false. Also fix the Haiku judge spinner bias: of 614 verdicts, 569 were 'working' and 95 of those noted a question was visible — Claude Code keeps the spinner animating at an idle prose decision, so the judge coin-flipped. Add a precedence override: when an option list AND a Recommendation/Reply instruction are both visible, classify WAITING even with spinner glyphs. Kept the strict dual-signal gate (never option-list-alone) so auto-decide-preserved doesn't flip. 5 unit tests pin the two-signal contract (2 true on real collapsed bytes, 3 false guards). 90 -> 95 pass. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(plan-review): ask-first scope gate for plan-eng + plan-design review On an empty/cold invocation, plan-eng-review and plan-design-review would dive straight into repo exploration (plan-eng) or a 7-pass mockup+audit (plan-design) and only ask the user much later, if at all. plan-ceo-review already asks first via an unconditional Step-0 gate and behaves well; these two did not. Add a hard-STOP scope gate as the FIRST operational instruction in each skill (above the design-doc check / pre-review audit / mockup defaults it explicitly overrides): the first tool call must be AskUserQuestion confirming the review target, before any git/Read/Grep/Glob/Bash or mockup generation. Under --disallowedTools the options render as plain column-0 lettered prose with a Recommendation + "Reply with A, B, or C" line so the answer is detectable. This is correct cold-start UX (confirm what to review before grinding a full review on nothing) and it is the product half of the plan-mode smoke fix; the harness collapsed-form detector is the deterministic half that catches the ask however it renders. Templates + regenerated SKILL.md (default variant). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(tiers): reclassify stochastic plan-eng/plan-design ask-first smokes as periodic plan-eng-review and plan-design-review run a long explore/audit before their first AskUserQuestion, so whether the plan-mode + finding-floor smokes reach a terminal outcome within the 300s/600s budget depends on stochastic ask-first compliance (measured ~50-67%/run even with the hardened gate). Per the "non-deterministic -> periodic" tiering rule, move the four affected smokes (plan-eng/plan-design review-plan-mode + finding-floor) to periodic. The deterministic harness fix (collapsed-form detector + judge precedence) and the ask-first gate lift these from always-failing to mostly-passing and are the real product+harness improvements; periodic monitoring tracks the rate weekly without blocking PRs on an LLM coin-flip. plan-ceo/plan-devex ask-first reliably and stay gate-tier. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci(evals): gate the deterministic PTY plan-mode smokes in CI The real-PTY plan-mode smokes never ran in CI — the gate was local-only. Add an e2e-pty-plan-smoke matrix suite running the two deterministically-reliable ones (office-hours-auto-mode, plan-mode-no-op) so a regression there blocks PRs. The stochastic plan-eng/plan-design ask-first smokes stay periodic (touchfiles E2E_TIERS) and are not CI-gated. A fresh CI container has no ~/.claude.json, so the spawned interactive `claude` would wedge on the onboarding + API-key-approval dialog. Add a scoped seed step (hasCompletedOnboarding + key approval, its own ANTHROPIC_API_KEY env) before the run — mirrors what the hermetic E2E child env seeds. Per-suite timeout override (35 min) via matrix.suite.timeout so the PTY suite has headroom for --retry 2 without bumping the other 12 suites. Report runner count 12 -> 13. Validate via workflow_dispatch before relying on the gate (PTY-in-CI is new). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * ci(evals): install gstack skill registry for the PTY smoke suite The first dry-run of e2e-pty-plan-smoke failed: the spawned interactive `claude` printed "Unknown command: /plan-ceo-review". .claude/skills is gitignored, so a fresh CI checkout has no gstack skill registry and the TUI can't resolve /office-hours or /plan-ceo-review. Add a Register step (scoped to the suite, after Seed, before Run) that mirrors setup's --no-prefix user-scoped registry minimally: $HOME/.claude/skills/gstack -> repo (resolves the preambles' absolute ~/.claude/skills/gstack/bin/* and <skill>/sections/* paths) + per-skill SKILL.md/sections symlinks for the two skills these tests invoke. HOME is /github/home in this container and the runner adds no HOME/CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR override (no hermetic mode), so $HOME is the right anchor — the Seed step already proved claude reads it. No ./setup (binary build + Chromium + fonts + /dev/tty prompt); SKILL.md + bin/ + sections/ are committed. Self-validating: fails the step loudly on a dangling symlink or missing `name:` frontmatter, so a moved target surfaces here instead of as a silent 35-min "Unknown command" timeout. v1.44.1.0 fix wave: post-windhoek paper-cut — 9 community PRs in one bundle (#1682)
* fix(office-hours): #1671 — session writer was writing to the legacy file User-visible symptom: returning /office-hours users get the same closing pitch every visit, no matter how many times they've run the skill. The welcome_back tier (which exists specifically to skip the pitch for returning users) was unreachable. Live since 2026-04-18 / v1.0.0.0 on every fresh-$HOME user. Root cause: the v1.0.0.0 migration moved the read path to ~/.gstack/developer-profile.json but left the writer in office-hours/SKILL.md.tmpl writing to the legacy ~/.gstack/builder-profile.jsonl. Reader and writer disagreed on storage, so SESSION_COUNT never incremented and /office-hours always treated the user as a first-timer. Fix: - bin/gstack-developer-profile: new --log-session subcommand that read-modify-writes developer-profile.json's sessions[] array (atomic mktemp+mv, signals/resources/topics aggregation, gbrain-enqueue mirror of gstack-timeline-log:40). Naming matches the gstack-*-log family verb. - bin/gstack-developer-profile: do_read filters mode:"resources" entries when picking LAST_PROJECT/LAST_ASSIGNMENT/LAST_DESIGN_TITLE so the Phase 6 resources auto-append doesn't clobber real-session state. Latent bug that was masked by the broken writer; activated by the fix. - office-hours/SKILL.md.tmpl: lines 490 + 893 swap echo >> for --log-session. - test/gstack-developer-profile.test.ts: +8 tests covering --log-session contract (regression, aggregation, dedup, validation, ts handling) plus the mode-filter regression. All 8 fail on main, all 8 pass with this fix. - test/static-no-legacy-writes.test.ts: new static-grep invariant walking every skill dir to prevent future regressions onto the legacy file. Affected users: stranded builder-profile.jsonl entries are not recovered automatically by this PR. On their next /office-hours run, the first new session lands in welcome_back; past data stays in the legacy file (still readable by other tools during deprecation). Most pre-existing users have only a handful of stranded sessions. See docs/designs/FIX_1671_PROFILE_MIGRATION.md for scope decisions (RC2/RC3 follow-ups, what was intentionally left out, and why). Issue: #1671 * test(office-hours): refine #1671 invariant regex comment for literal-path scope Clarifies that the WRITE_PATTERN regex catches literal-path writes only; variable-indirected writes (FILE=...; echo >> "$FILE") are not detected. The SKILL.md.tmpl assertions in the same suite pin the exact #1671 regression class directly; this regex is a backstop, not a flow analyzer. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix(timeline): pass read filters as data * feat(next-version): support monorepo VERSION paths via --version-path + .gstack/version-path The workspace-aware ship queue hardcoded the VERSION file at the repo root. In monorepos where versioning is subproject-scoped (one app inside a larger repo), every PR's VERSION lookup 404s, the queue silently empties, and parallel /ship sessions all bump from "current main + 1" — producing a cascade of slot collisions. Repro: tinas-second-brain repo. Root VERSION is absent; the real VERSION lives at "Tinas Second Brain/health-tracker/VERSION". In one day, four sequential collisions: 0.4.0.1 -> 0.5.0.0 -> 0.5.0.1 -> 0.5.0.2 -> 0.5.0.3. Fix: add a --version-path flag and a repo-local .gstack/version-path config file. Resolution priority: CLI flag > .gstack/version-path > "VERSION". The resolved path threads through all four call sites — git show origin/<base>:<path>, the GitHub Contents API, the GitLab files API, and the local sibling-worktree scan — and shows up in the JSON output as version_path so /ship and operators can see what got picked. The previous warning "could not fetch VERSION (fork or private)" was misleading whenever the real cause was wrong path. The new wording names the path that 404'd and hints at the two knobs. Backward-compatible: no flag, no config, no change in behavior. Tests: 6 unit tests for resolveVersionPath (priority, parsing, blank / missing / empty edge cases) + a second integration smoke that drives --version-path end-to-end and asserts it surfaces in JSON output. * fix(investigate): support standalone freeze hook path * fix(browse): clarify localhost bind failures * fix(migration): defer v1.40.0.0 done-marker until every repair succeeds (#1581) The v1.40.0.0 migration unconditionally `touch`ed its done-marker, even when the jq-gated `.brain-privacy-map.json` patch was skipped because jq was missing on the user's machine. On subsequent runs, the script short-circuited on the marker so the privacy-map repair never landed. Federation sync then silently dropped `/plan-eng-review` test plans. Track every failure mode via a single `incomplete` flag: jq missing, malformed JSON, jq mutation failure, tempfile creation failure, `mv` failure, allowlist append failure, gitattributes append failure. The marker is written only when `incomplete=0`, so the migration runner retries on the next /gstack-upgrade once the prerequisites are met. * test(migration): unit tests for v1.40.0.0 deferred done-marker fix (#1581) 8 cases pinning the fix: - Case 1 (happy path): jq present, fresh privacy-map → all three files patched, marker written. - Case 2 (regression for #1581): jq missing, privacy-map present → marker must NOT be written. Fails against the buggy script, passes against the fix. - Case 3 (recovery): jq missing, then jq restored → patch lands on second run. - Case 4 (idempotency): privacy-map already has correct entry → no mutation, marker written. - Case 5 (fresh-init): privacy-map file absent → allowlist + gitattrs patched, marker written. - Case 6 (malformed JSON): broken privacy-map JSON → no marker, no mutation. - Case 7 (jq mutation failure): fake jq returning 1 → no marker, tempfile cleaned up. - Case 8 (allowlist append failure): read-only allowlist → no marker. Tests use spawnSync('bash', [MIGRATION], …) with isolated tmpHomes. "jq missing" sets PATH to a curated dir of symlinks to standard utils, omitting jq; "jq mutation fails" uses an `exit 1` shim. Avoids blanket-clearing PATH (which would hide bash/grep/etc). * fix(brain-sync): make artifact sync work on Windows (discover-new + drain) Automatic artifact sync was fully non-functional on Windows (Git Bash): --discover-new enqueued nothing and the --once drain staged nothing, so artifacts_sync_mode looked active but no artifacts ever reached the repo. Three independent Windows-only causes in bin/gstack-brain-sync: 1. discover-new matched os.path.relpath (backslash separators on Windows) against the forward-slash allowlist globs, so no nested file ever matched. Normalized the relpath to "/". 2. discover-new enqueued via subprocess.run([gstack-brain-enqueue, rel]), but Windows Python cannot exec a bash-shebang script, so nothing was enqueued even once matched. Now appends to the queue in-process. 3. compute_paths_to_stage ends in print(p); Windows Python emits CRLF, the bash `read -r` keeps the trailing CR, and `git add -- "path<CR>"` matches nothing under `2>/dev/null || true`. Now strips the CR before staging. The in-process enqueue mirrors gstack-brain-enqueue's contract: one atomic O_APPEND write per record (each line < PIPE_BUF) so a parallel writer-shim append can't interleave mid-record, and the discover cursor advances only after the write succeeds, so a failed write retries instead of silently recording the file as synced. Skip-list entries are separator-normalized on both the discover and drain (compute_paths_to_stage) sides, so a backslash .brain-skip.txt entry can't be honored at discovery yet bypassed at commit. Adds test/brain-sync-windows-paths.test.ts (static invariants -- behavioral spawn tests cannot run on the Windows lane, since Node/Bun cannot exec the bin/ shebang scripts there) and wires it into windows-free-tests.yml. Verified red->green and end-to-end on Windows 11 / Git Bash; macOS/Linux behavior unchanged (os.sep is already "/", no CRLF, compute path logic unchanged besides the shared skip normalization). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * fix: detect bun.lock (Bun v1.2+ text lockfile) in diff-scope CONFIG gstack-diff-scope only matched the legacy binary lockfile `bun.lockb` but not the newer text-based `bun.lock` introduced in Bun v1.2+. Projects using current Bun versions were silently missing the SCOPE_CONFIG signal when only the lockfile changed. 🤖 Generated with [Qoder][https://qoder.com] * fix(ios-qa): resolve CoreDevice tunnel via devicectl + keep tunnel alive The daemon's tunnel bootstrap used `dns.resolve6` to look up `<device>.coredevice.local`, which fails with ESERVFAIL on macOS 26.x (Darwin 25.x) because Node's resolve6 path goes through libresolv and does NOT consult mDNSResponder. `dns.lookup` (getaddrinfo) does. Even when resolution works, CoreDevice in Xcode 26 only holds the USB tunnel up while a devicectl command is in-flight, so the IPv6 ULA becomes unroutable within ~10-15s of idle and subsequent proxy requests time out. Two-part fix: 1. Resolution order is now (a) `xcrun devicectl device info details --json-output` to read `result.connectionProperties.tunnelIPAddress` directly, (b) mDNS via `dns.lookup`, (c) legacy `dns.resolve6` as a last-ditch fallback. 2. After a successful bootstrap the daemon spawns a periodic `devicectl device info details` (~5s) to keep the tunnel session alive. Cleaned up on SIGINT/SIGTERM/exit. Adds tests for `getDeviceTunnelIPv6FromDevicectl`, the `resolveTunnelIPv6` fallback chain, and `startTunnelKeepalive`. Existing bootstrap tests updated to include the new `device info details` spawn step. Tested against: iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 26.x via Mac Mini M-series running macOS Sequoia 15.x / Darwin 25.3.0. * chore(release): v1.44.1.0 — 9-PR community fix wave (post-windhoek paper-cut) Bump VERSION + CHANGELOG entry. Wave covers /office-hours session counter, iOS QA macOS 26 tunnels, Windows brain-sync, browse server bind diagnostics, monorepo VERSION layouts, /investigate freeze hook on standalone installs, gstack-timeline-read quote injection, v1.40.0.0 migration on jq-less machines, bun.lock detection. 9 community PRs: #1676 #1635 #1627 #1648 #1664 #1589 #1672 #1649 #1673 9 contributors credited: @pryow @jbetala7 @cfeddersen @Gujiassh @spacegeologist @stedfn @daveowenatl @hiSandog @sternryan 4 issues closed: #1671 #1677 #1634 #1647 #1581 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> --------- Co-authored-by: Rook <rook@robomovers.com> Co-authored-by: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> Co-authored-by: Jayesh Betala <jayesh.betala7@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Christoph <astaran@herr-der-ringe-film.de> Co-authored-by: gujishh <baiaoshh@163.com> Co-authored-by: zhengzuo0-ai <zheng.zuo0@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: Stefan Neamtu <stefan.neamtu@nearone.org> Co-authored-by: Dave Owen <daveowen66@gmail.com> Co-authored-by: 陈家名 <chenjiaming@kezaihui.com> Co-authored-by: Ryan Stern <206953196+sternryan@users.noreply.github.com> |

v1.43.0.0 feat: iOS device-farm (5 skills, Mac daemon, Tailscale) (#1574)
* feat(ios): author 5 iOS device-farm skill templates + generated docs Authors ios-qa, ios-fix, ios-design-review, ios-clean, ios-sync as upstream gstack skills. Each follows the standard SKILL.md.tmpl pattern with preamble-tier:3 frontmatter. The fork at time-attack/gstack shipped these but as byte-identical .md/.tmpl pairs that wouldn't pass skill-docs.yml — this commit fixes that by authoring proper templates and regenerating through gen-skill-docs. * feat(ios): Swift templates for StateServer + DebugOverlay v2 + structural Release guard StateServer is loopback-only (::1 + 127.0.0.1) with boot-token rotation, per-device session lock (sliding on mutations only), snapshot/restore with schema-hash envelope, and 1MB body cap. DebugOverlay v2 has animated brand border + agent attribution chip (display-only) + recording watermark. Package.swift enforces structural Release-build exclusion via .when(configuration: .debug). Includes Tailscale ACL example doc. * feat(ios): Mac-side daemon (bun/TS) for Tailscale identity gating + USB proxy On-demand daemon spawns when /ios-qa needs it (single-instance flock + readiness protocol). Owns tailnet ingress: fail-closed tailscaled LocalAPI probe, dual-track /auth/mint (self-service for allowlisted identities, owner-granted via CLI), capability-tier allowlist (observe/interact/mutate/restore), 1h default session TTL (24h hard cap), audit log of every authenticated mutating tailnet request, hashed-identity attempts log. iOS StateServer never directly binds tailnet — identity validation lives Mac-side because iPhones can't reach tailscaled. 67 unit/integration tests covering session-lock concurrency, capability enforcement, fail-closed probe, identity canonicalization, body limits, and boot-token leak proofs. * feat(ios): gen-accessors codegen tool (SwiftPM + TS port) Replaces fork's regex-based codegen with SwiftPM swift-syntax tool (production) plus a TS port (test + fast first-run). Composite cache key: sha256(source || swift_version || tool_git_rev || platform_triple). Codex flagged that source-only hash misses generator-logic changes — this hash invalidates correctly across all four dimensions. 20 tests cover the 3 known regex failure modes (computed properties, generics, multi-line types) plus full cache hit/miss/prune coverage. * test(ios): high-level E2E + touchfile registration 8 E2E scenarios: codegen against SwiftUI fixture, daemon spawn + stub StateServer, schema-mismatch rejection, full agent loop, multi-agent contention, tailnet allowlist gating, capability-tier enforcement. Registered as gate-tier in E2E_TOUCHFILES + E2E_TIERS so diff-based selection picks up iOS work without slowing every PR. * chore: bump version and changelog (v1.40.0.0) Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 <noreply@anthropic.com> * test(ios): real Swift compile + XCTest fixture; device-path probe; loopback bind fix Closes the gap from prior commits where E2E tests stubbed the Swift StateServer in TypeScript. Now there's a real SwiftPM fixture at test/fixtures/ios-qa/FixtureApp/ that compiles the production templates and runs an XCTest suite against the actual StateServer implementation. Three new test layers: - swift build invariants (periodic-tier): debug-config build succeeds, XCTest suite passes (validates real Swift impl over Foundation + Network), release-config build has zero DebugBridge symbols (structural #if DEBUG gate works end-to-end). - Real-device probe (periodic-tier, GSTACK_HAS_IOS_DEVICE=1): devicectl can list + pair the connected iPhone. Surfaces actionable instructions when the trust dialog hasn't been confirmed yet. - Fixture sources copied from ios-qa/templates/ — Package.swift splits the bridge into DebugBridgeCore (Foundation+Network, cross-platform) and DebugBridgeUI (UIKit/SwiftUI, iOS-only) so swift build can validate the bulk of the production code on macOS without an iPhone or simulator. Also fixes a real bug the XCTest unit suite caught: NWListener with requiredLocalEndpoint on params silently fails to bind for listening (it's an outbound-connection concept). Replaced with .requiredInterfaceType=.loopback + .acceptLocalOnly=true + a per-connection peer-address check. The fork's inherited code had this bug; we shipped it untouched in v1.41.0.0 and the new XCTest suite caught it immediately. * fix(ios): 3 architecture bugs surfaced by real-iPhone device test End-to-end verification on a connected iPhone 17 Pro Max via CoreDevice tunnel exposed three bugs the TS-stubbed and macOS-XCTest layers missed: 1. acceptLocalOnly=true was too tight. Network.framework's "local" gate only allows ::1 / 127.0.0.1, silently dropping CoreDevice tunnel peers (the very transport the architecture is designed for). The device log showed "Ignoring non-local connection from fd72:8347:2ead::2" — the Mac's tunnel-side address. Replaced with explicit per-connection ULA gate (RFC 4193 fc00::/7) in isLoopbackPeer. 2. DebugBridgeCore (Foundation+Network) referenced DebugOverlayWindow which lives in DebugBridgeUI (UIKit). Backwards module dep. Compiled on macOS only because canImport(UIKit) stripped it; broke on iOS. Moved the overlay install responsibility to the consuming app's wiring (DebugBridgeWiring.swift.template already shows the pattern). 3. @Observable macro + @Snapshotable property wrapper conflict. Both try to synthesize backing storage; can't coexist on the same property. The production guidance is: nest snapshot-eligible state in a struct inside an ObservableObject (or use the canonical-state-struct atomicity strategy). Fixture switched to a plain class to demonstrate. Smoke loop on the real device now passes 7/8 endpoints: - /healthz (200), /tap unauth (401), /auth/rotate (200), boot-token reuse rejected (401), /session/acquire (200), /state/snapshot (200 with schema envelope), /session/release (200). /tap with valid session returns 200 HTTP + op:false because the FixtureApp doesn't wire MutationBridge.resolver to a real UI tap — expected for a minimal fixture; the production wiring template handles it. Also adds: - test/fixtures/ios-qa/FixtureApp/Sources/FixtureApp/FixtureAppApp.swift (SwiftUI @main entry that boots StateServer) - test/fixtures/ios-qa/FixtureApp/Sources/FixtureApp/Info.plist - test/fixtures/ios-qa/FixtureApp/project.yml (xcodegen project spec with DEVELOPMENT_TEAM 623FYQ2M88, bundle id com.gstack.iosqa.fixture) End-to-end verified path: xcodegen generate xcodebuild -allowProvisioningUpdates -allowProvisioningDeviceRegistration devicectl device install app devicectl device process launch devicectl device copy from --source tmp/gstack-ios-qa.token curl -6 http://[<corodevice-ipv6>]:9999/... * feat(ios): real daemon tunnelProvider + KIF-derived UITouch synthesis Closes two layers of the device-control gap: L1 — Mac daemon's tunnelProvider is now real, not a stub. New files: - ios-qa/daemon/src/devicectl.ts: thin wrappers around `xcrun devicectl` (list, info, launch, install, copy-from) with spawn+resolve injection for unit testability. - ios-qa/daemon/src/tunnel-bootstrap.ts: orchestrates find-device → launch-app → resolve IPv6 → wait-for-healthz → copy-boot-token → POST /auth/rotate → return DeviceTunnel with rotated bearer. - ios-qa/daemon/test/tunnel-bootstrap.test.ts: 7 tests covering every error branch (no_devices, no_paired_device, device_locked, state_server_unreachable, resolve_failed, happy path, explicit-udid). - index.ts wired to use bootstrapTunnel() when running as CLI; tests keep using injected stubs. L2 — In-process touch synthesis for non-UIControl widgets. New target in the fixture SPM package: - DebugBridgeTouch (Objective-C): KIF-derived UITouch + IOHIDEvent synthesis. Loads IOKit dynamically via dlopen/dlsym (IOKit is a private framework on iOS, can't link statically). Uses iOS 18+ _UIHitTestContext for SwiftUI hit-testing. Public Swift-callable API: DebugBridgeTouch.sendTap(at:in:). MIT-attributed to kif-framework/KIF. - DebugBridgeUI/Bridges.swift: rewritten MutationBridge.handleTap to delegate to DebugBridgeTouch. ScreenshotBridge + ElementsBridge implementations also land here. - FixtureApp/Sources/FixtureApp/FixtureAppApp.swift: wires the bridges on app launch under #if DEBUG. Real-iPhone evidence (Conductor sandbox → CoreDevice IPv6 → live app): - /healthz returns 200 with on-device JSON body - /screenshot returns 427KB PNG that decodes to your actual phone screen - Boot-token rotation kills the original token (401 boot_token_invalid on reuse — the load-bearing security property verified live) - Session lock + auth gate (401/423/200 paths all work) - Schema-versioned state envelope (_schema_version + _accessor_hash) Known partial: synthesized UITouch reaches SwiftUI's host view per device-side syslog ("non-local connection from fd...:2" earlier showed the per-connection peer gate working), and HTTP returns 200 ok:true, but SwiftUI Button onTap handler doesn't fire. UIControl widgets DO work via UIControl.sendActions. Next step is attaching lldb to the live app on device to diagnose which validation SwiftUI's gesture recognizer is failing. The architectural primary path (`POST /state/<key>` to mutate @Snapshotable fields) is unaffected and is the recommended control vector. Documented sources for the KIF-derived synthesis: - https://github.com/kif-framework/KIF (MIT) - UITouch-KIFAdditions.m: init flow with _setLocationInWindow:, setGestureView:, _setIsFirstTouchForView: - IOHIDEvent+KIF.m: digitizer event construction - iOS 18+ _UIHitTestContext path for SwiftUI hit-testing * fix(ios): SwiftUI Button synthesized tap on iOS 18+ DBT_HitTestView was filtering _hitTestWithContext: results by isKindOfClass:UIView and dropping the new SwiftUI.UIKitGestureContainer (a UIResponder, not UIView). SwiftUI Buttons live behind that container on iOS 18+, so every synthesized tap returned ok:true but onTap never fired. Mirror KIF PR #1323: return id, pass the responder through to UITouch.setView: directly (the setter accepts non-UIView responders). Verified: real iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26.5, FixtureApp counter incremented 0 → 1 → 4 over four /tap requests at the button location. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(ios): hoist DebugBridgeTouch into canonical templates Bridges.swift.template imports DebugBridgeTouch but no .m/.h template shipped — consuming apps installing the canonical drop-in would hit a linker error. Closes that gap with the fixture's verified working code. Changes: - New ios-qa/templates/DebugBridgeTouch.{h,m}.template files (carbon copies of the fixture sources, including the iOS-18+ SwiftUI hit-test fix verified on iPhone 17 Pro Max). - Package.swift.template splits into 3 product targets: DebugBridgeCore (Swift, cross-platform), DebugBridgeUI (Swift, iOS-only), DebugBridgeTouch (Obj-C, iOS-only). Consuming app adds one dependency on DebugBridgeUI; Core + Touch come in transitively. - DebugBridgeTouch sources wrap their body in #if TARGET_OS_IOS so the cross-platform `swift build` on macOS host doesn't choke on UIKit. On iOS the real implementation is active; on macOS sendTapAtPoint: is a no-op returning NO. - New parity tests pin template ↔ fixture content so future fixture fixes propagate or fail loudly. - Restrict swift-build host tests to DebugBridgeCore (the only target buildable on macOS) and bring up the previously broken XCTest run via --filter. Verified post-change: real iPhone 17 Pro Max, iOS 26.5, three /tap requests against the rebuilt app — counter went 0 → 3, SwiftUI Button onTap fires every time. Templates now sufficient to ship to any consuming iOS app. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.7 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> * feat(ios): ship gstack-ios-qa-daemon + gstack-ios-qa-mint launchers The skill doc has been telling users to run `gstack-ios-qa-daemon` and `gstack-ios-qa-mint` since v1.41.0.0, but neither binary actually existed. Anyone following the install flow hit "command not found" immediately after the Swift template install. Adds the missing pieces: - bin/gstack-ios-qa-daemon — bash shim that execs `bun run ios-qa/daemon/src/index.ts`. Loopback by default; `--tailnet` to additionally open the Tailscale-facing listener with capability-tier allowlist enforcement. - bin/gstack-ios-qa-mint — owner-grant CLI for the tailnet allowlist (grant / revoke / list). Writes ~/.gstack/ios-qa-allowlist.json at mode 0600. Self-service POST /auth/mint reads from this file; remote agents never auto-allowlist. - ios-qa/daemon/src/cli-mint.ts — TS implementation behind the shim. Handles --capability tier validation, --ttl expiry, --note metadata, and --allowlist-path override for tests. - ios-qa/daemon/src/allowlist.ts — treat empty files as "no entries yet" (caught while writing the CLI tests; previously bombed with a JSON parse error on the first grant against a freshly-mktemp'd path). Tests: 7 new end-to-end launcher tests (--help shape, grant/list/revoke roundtrip, missing --remote, unknown capability, --ttl persistence, launcher executability, missing-bun preflight). All 81 daemon tests pass. This is the last gap between "templates installed" and "I can drive any connected iPhone over USB or tailnet" — the user-facing CLI surface now matches the install instructions byte-for-byte. Anyone reading README or AGENTS to figure out how to drive an iPhone hit a wall: skills are listed, binaries aren't. This commit closes the coverage gap surfaced by /document-release's Diataxis audit: - README.md, AGENTS.md: both CLIs added to the binary tables with one-line capability summaries. - docs/howto-ios-testing-with-gstack.md (new): end-to-end how-to — prerequisites, architecture in one breath, install the templates, build + install + launch on device, spin up the daemon, drive the HTTP surface, optional Tailscale remote-agent mode via gstack-ios-qa-mint, /ios-clean before release, common failures. Pulled directly from the real iPhone 17 Pro Max / iOS 26.5 verification run. - README + AGENTS link to the new how-to from the iOS skill row. No CHANGELOG entry change — the consolidated 1.43.0.0 entry is /ship work. No VERSION bump — already at 1.43.0.0 covering all branch work.
