- A vendor that exits 0 but leaves a background child holding its pipes was held to the deadline, group-killed and reported as a timeout with its answer dropped. 'exit' now starts a short stdout drain, then resolves with the real exit code and kills whatever still holds the group. - EPIPE on the child's stdin (it answered before reading a large input) is reported as stdinError, separate from error, so a delivered answer is not classified as a spawn failure. - Stdio streams are destroyed and the child unref'd on resolve so a straggler cannot pin the hook process; tail/grace/drain sizes are named constants.
