This list, also known as BADBOOL, was started in September 2017 and was most recently updated on June 22, 2025 to update the PeekYou and Veripages opt-out URLs, update information on credit freezes, to add information on Spokeo, to add Ofsearch, Private Eye, and Unmask to the list, and to remove Peoplefinders since opting out of SmartBackgroundChecks seems to lead to removal from that broker and is free. We also changed ☠ 💐icons to just 💐.
